Plastering | Shrewsbury SY2 6JY | MyHammer




Job Description


Hello

I am doing a timber frame self build in Shrewsbury. I need a trader to plasterboard every room and hallway (walls and ceilings) and skim plaster.

The house is 4 bed detached house please see the attached floor plans. The dimensions are accurate. Ceiling height is standard (2.4m)

Please call me if you require any further information

Proposed Price £1000 inc VAT








I'm guessing I'll supply ....

Jurek has he left contact details? If so how are you wording your advice to this person regarding a rate for a skilled experienced, clean and reliable tradesman?!!
 
If you think you and your labourer can get the whole job done in 5 days (labour only) it's a fair price, not a great price but fair.

At that price he will be doing it himself.

i dont have the contact details, james. was just joking. i'm not a member of myhammer or any other similar site. just got a marketing email and took a look. the only question i'd have for him would be what planet is he on ...

hes asking that the whole house be boarded and skimmed for £1000 .... unbelievable. someones quoted on it, as well. not to say it's anywhere near the ask.

This is exactly the same problem with rated people etc.Do you think he will ask for references or look at previous work?! No I don't think so, someone will do it for what he is proposing.
 
they probably will, james. it's a self build so you would have thought he'd have done a bit of research as to prices etc. fcukard.

It is a poor price, the builder is either very naive or trying it on.

whatever happens, if ends up paying £1000 to b & s that house, I can't see it being finished to a decent standard.

from a quick look at the plans, you'd imagine it would be at least £3k for labour only.
 
We should get the guys number and put adverts in the free ads across the country saying he selling french bulldog puppies for £100 his phone won't stop lol
 
On site skim only a 3 bed is worth 780 and you need to work to make that pay. Anyone who thinks they can make that job pay is clueless
 
these sort of sites are a new one on me. is that how it works then,they tell you how much its going to be ? how does that work then.

this is a price dreamt up by some office worker, who has not got a clue.
 
The only thing I'd do for a £1000 is give him a good hiding

we are looking for a very neat finish with good corner joints, I have plenty of work throughout Bath over Christmas and the new year (walls and ceiling)

We are looking for a high standard of finish, ideally ceilings completed then on to walls. no wet corner to corners. plenty of room to move and mix up. house is clear and empty. ready to start on the 18th of December
Style of property: Modern

Not asking much are they!
