Wack text me today, 200 thin coat beads @ 79p ea with a free 14" s/s nela cork handle trowel thrown in? Better than a poke in the eye if you need that amount of beads.

The trowel is free with the deal. The don't really sell trowels but the rrp is allegedly £56.64. But I know they are cheaper than that

No such thing as a free lunch ct :)but 79p delivered plus free trowel still not a bad deal

R + J pre bend your beads so they're good for arches. Whacks beads are expamet.

anyone tried Zedfix ? They do 50 3m for about £30 and their blue grit is £15

They have made that RRP up.....

I will have some news on this soon as we have been talking to NELA and know about this

I'm using The Plasterers Forum Mobile App

Both r and j and wack sell expamet and locusrite. The first box I had from r and j were bent. Told them to close my account. Begged me to make another order so I did and theyve veen fine since.

expamet beads are the best, unless you put the plaster on to wet , and want any back up from them :)

Did you know that Locusrite make the Expamet thin coat beads?

once the cheque has cleared , its got be either cheap scrim or setlement or bg fault or nela

I got my latest wack book the other day and noticed a couple of things .Massive full page of the Nela trowel with the rrp . They also seem to have a shed load of Makita gear if you spend a set amount of money. firstly I don't want a so called free tool in my deal because I would much prefer the best price on what I wanted in the first place. The free stuff that you pay for anyways imho . I use wack , r&j , dbp to get the best price on the gear I want not what they think they can sell me. For example I bought 150 beads 2 weeks ago and was called today to see if I wanted more as they had the best price on them ever which was the same I paid in the first place. I have found best time to call them is close of play. They always give in pretty easy as they wanna go home

These people are best spoken to at the end of the month. If they haven't made there sales targets you can name your own price.

So how come these trowels are the next big thing with blokes buying them from 1 stop, when another firm are giving them away free with other kit ?

Ryan will you be chucking any freebies in for the blokes when they buy these trowels off you ?

The price of whatever is free is factored into the deal.................its like when british gas advertise new boilers and give you £500 for your old one............its just marketing shizzle
