there in Ribena$ newest catalogue (august) but not on their website yet as far as I can see anyway.
which is why I wasn't sure if they are just taking pre orders or had actually sold out.

Ah I see bud, have they made the new one narrower?

If you use a traditional stainless steel trowel on the first flatten no wonder it went wrong. That's not a dig at you mate if your new to this you don't know. I first coat with a Nela premium then end with a refina s*p*r*lex and trowel up with it. The trick if you want to call it that is you can get on your set much quicker using very little water rather than chucking it on like some spreads with huge splash brushes etc

No it's all new to me, so are you saying straight on with the s*p*r*lex on the first flatten after 2nd coated with the stainless MT

What's the difference between timing with these and the MT towels

You would be looking to get on it with a s*p*r*lex a bit earlier then you would a mt if your timings right you'll use no water whichll speed the gauge up and leave a very consistent looking finish.
That said though I was actually on about the set of speedskims you just bought being a good investment.
I like them very much.

What I'm saying is, if your going to use a s*p*r*lex then just flatten/trowel up with it till you get used to it. I've been letting my apprentice loose with my refina latley (he's just started his level 3) and the difference in his finishing is quite suprising and I'm going to get him one as it's a no brained. They save time and make the job so much easier

How earlier? I would throw first coat on and by the time I get around to finishing that off, I then go back to start and flatten. I then throw the 2nd coat on, flatten and let it sit 10-15 mins then go over it again. Let sit awhile again then go over it with some water then wait again. Sane again with let it sit then it should have taken up by now then go over it one last time. Once that's set, I polish it up with taking of the water marks. How differently should I do it with speedskim.

Its difficult to set timings in stone as every gauge has a different number of variables, size of gauge, inclement weather, hangover, amount of redbull/monster consumed etc.
The way I approach my gauges on say a double bedroom would be scratch it all on twitch angles then speedskim, lay it in twitch angles speedskim again then washout quickly and get the next gauge ready to go.
Then speedskim again, a couple of gentle wipes with the s*p*r*lex should leave it bob on.
Its a bit of trial and error and needed to get your timings right but stick with it cause once you crack that its happy days.
