opinion on price

sorry lads meant too say there are more full houses to go at after this one like I said never really been offered it on m2 resKim an I will be defo takin a gander first if it don't look good won't be getting my toys out the van thanks for the replys
If there are more full reskims, is it for a builder developer or housing association ? If so they will have measured the areas. Could be a good earner. Ask if the rate is for flat walls, ceilings etc make sure that reveals and narrow widths have either been accounted for or are measured separately. Make sure you one that has already been "prepped", and good luck mate.

Corrrrrrect brother!!!

Fill out joints, beads, linnings etc...

Mix gear up nice & round take that little bit longer putting on...

3 trowels job done!!!

Genuinely Mate I was taught to 1 coat properly by 2 spreads around 10 yrs back and have never looked back...

Best, 2 spreads ever worked with A1 flawless!!!

I would put my work up against anyone's or simply wouldn't to it!!!

Trust me @Kitchy you will genuinely now start to earn more, quicker, easier on the body, be done earlier and will enjoy skimming again!!!

Good lad!!!
Yep if its done right its bob on..did easy over 120m2 2day started at 9 finished for 3..i was against it because I know 2 lads who 1 coat and there work is shite door casings, beads all curved out etc and not square and dips in scrims etc but there literally just 1 coat everything without filling out 1st

Always try measure through doors and windows saves fcking about measuring reveals etc and beading

Just to add @Kitchy....

Sooooo easy to do 3 or 4 quick 1.5hr max gauges than 2epic long drawn out 2coat from seperate mixes etc..

You will find that you will happily decide to chuckva quick 3rd or 4th exta little gauge on at 2pm etc which soon starts to make a massive difference to earnings and productivity!!!

been offered £5.50 a mtr on a full house resKim all prepped an loaded out I've always done day work on refurb stuff just wondered if you think this is ok or do you think better on day work cheers
Warty a wall is what you wanna be getting marra, stand firm, zero negociating. we all know our worth and should stick to it

All new board work?

I work alone, bead scrim, dub out if needed, and put 3bags on as an average hit, get two or three hits per day if it's normal height, sometimes less.

we recently helped a plasterer to plaster his own new build house. he and his wife had a touch of luck on the lotto. so his interest had wained.
my son and myself skimmed the large rooms 2 coats. he took the small rooms ,one coat, small hits, he was good at this method and left a good quality job.

Why people think it's OK to one coat I'll never understand. By time you've filled all beads and joints out you'd be as well just coating the rest of the board. Whether is looks as good as two coating doesn't matter, the product is designed for two coats. Imagine someone coming on saying they only put one coat when on exterior work

Never got on with one coating. Had a couple of occasions when the boards have been spot on and I've thought f**k it. It don't need a second coat and it's come out ok. But never been able to get a decent finish when I've set out to one coat (if you see what I mean)

Id go look at it..its orite people saying f**k that don't do it etc but u mayb onto a winner..

I was subbying for a fella a few years back on £2.80m......he went into refurb and paid me £5m for reskims.
All walls glued well ahead of me.
It seemed to be take the rough with the smooth.
Good areas and bad areas on the plus side i also got £5 for skimming all board work (mainly ceilings).

Some of the sites where dodgy as fuuck ...power tripping/shite everywhere/ and absolute shite to make right.
But it paid !!
