Ok so how much roughly to paint a 3 bed terrace all new plaster and wood work 2 double beds one box 2 living rooms and kitchen? How long?

You settling an argument or quoting for a job spanky?

Was going to quote for a job yeah, but I have enough work on this house as it is really. Saves anymore mider really, spoke to a mate PD and he reckon it would take 2 men 21-2 weeks, though that was excessive so don't think I will bother chucking a price in, I would have thought personally 7-8 days for 2 PDs.

what do you reckon?

Was coming out at about £2250 + mats

you would be surprised how close on commercial contracts the rates for each are.

Yep their prices were almost exactly the same as mine back on sizeable housing projects I used to do. I was told that their prices barely went down when UPVC windows became the norm, saving them much time.

there was a time when the building trade went on strike for equal pay for painters. they where only paid 2 thirds of a tradesmens pay. ie between a tradesman and a labourer

Do you spray kenaf deco? With airless.

we had a look at that in a big way at one point, at there training dept at immingham near hull, and had Clive and his cronnie come out on site with us, but I wasn't convinced about it in the end.

We have just got our first airless that is capable of spray the pre mixed airless plaster. We have also just got the texture gun for acrylics and plano/deco with the ritmo. We also have some Flex sanders/vacs so are in a good position to take on a decent size project.

I have been to see the systems at their training centers and think the finish is excellent.

Im not sure if the demand is there for it yet, however once we have a system mastered

The finish is good, but the demand in my opinion is not there for it, and the cost makes it a no goer.

I looked into it a while ago,
im a consultant for a substanable building company and i was tasked to find an internal finish for durisol systems[you cant use gypsum as part of there warranty.] in the end we used parex bric, there internal lime breathable plaster.

Thats my issue with it as well, the cost of the mats. They say u cut labour rates to cover it and the blokes still earn as they are putting on more meterage.

I then pointed out I can do easily as much with Mp finish at 60% less mat costs.

Im thinking of it a a more high end finish which we will charge extra for.
