Make sure you the get the render mix correct 10 - 12mm coat thickness , and make the stone have been hosed clean the stone wants too be wet but not soaked .

Not wet damp. Better to take them out of bag mix them and wet them night before. Ideal in morning

You're right I've not a got a clue about dashing. Only do between 2 and 4 houses per month as well as countless other bits and bobs.

Glasgow pal dry dash is very popular here for its longevity.

I did some patching in about a year ago and before that probably 10yr plus since I done any of that shite ! I like it it’s sexual

the stones we get come in 25kg bags already washed we just load the scaffold with them.

we have had flint dyed different colours, some very bright colours to use on bands on tower blocks. the flint is dyed in Denmark all based material.
we where always told as apprentices never to wash stone as it will cause lime bloom on the dash.

I did quite a few dashed jobs when eco started, they’re as bad a K-rend to turning green
