Spunk again I agree with you to an extent. If it's the same meterage as by hand then yeah 9k is a lot of money for most people. But if u take into account that it'll be used for mono, CPI, mp75, thin coats etc and the fact that curry is like 25-26, that 9k to which it increases output in all but one debatable aspect, over potentially the next 40 yrs. when u look at it that way it's a bargain.

The way to apply skimming by hand, you seem to have spray skimming on board sussed Currier, well done and I hope it benefits you the way it should for your pioneering spirit. Prices are poor for skimming these days though.

the way its seems to me is the only bloke`s who put the machine`s down are the guys who can`t afford the outlay.i`ve been plastering 20 years and although im only 38 im fairly old fashioned in the way i work, way i was taught i suppose.i bought my ritmo to make life easier for me and my team.i won`t use it day in day out but when i do work should be alot easier!!
i would like to watch 2 men finish 208m2 in a day to be honest, especailly without a lab!!! not sure it can be done in two sets though, maybe 3,and a long day at that.
currier seems to be moving with the time`s and fair play to him.he will probably be spreading,or should i saying SPRAYING alot longer than you 100mm2 a day guys!!!

I never slagged machines off at all bobby, I said 2 plasterers could skim that in two sets, if you can't fair enough i know plenty that could

Look this is how it is !!!
we can all post on here about we can do this and we can do that the truth be told is that machines are the way forward I started plastering at 16 and have banged on thousands of meters by hand knocked my b*ll***s out for £2 per m2 and still booked in a grand a week but these days I just spray ,spraying is moving our trade with the times and we should all embrace this ,I don't touch inside work these days only external renderers but I say this ,if I went back to plastering the first thing I would do is buy a nice little plastering machine .
i liked the video currier could have been better quality though but good job mate I'm working on one myself once its done ill post it up
colin

Yer quality is not the best ill do it in HD next time. Its difficult to do a good vid when Im part of the 2+1

Gonna get a pro to come in a do the 400m vid

that's because youre a lazy koont

Think you've gone a bit Ott there mate if youre saying you'd buy a machine to spray plaster not render

I think the machines only have their place in external rendering i dont think they give you any advantage when skimming at all. That vid looks like the ceilings are either getting a grid ceiling so the mess splashing up wont make any odds, all the reveals got left, there was big walls to go at but once on the smaller stuff it wouldnt be worth spraying. Bobby that was 2 men and a lab so cant make a comparison saying 2 lads without a lab, a 2-1 would piss that area no probs and i keep hearing people saying it makes it easier but you still have to flatten it which is done when putting on with a trowel and at one coat a 2-1 would murder it. Machines i think will bring the rates down which they have with the external stuff nobody can say it hasent and if your gonna spray finish expect the rates to drop even more. This is my opinion not one made because i havent got a machine, i would have a machine but i doubt it would suit my type of work.

Haha u just keep on pushing that gear up them walls while I sip a beer on the beach come and spend a week with me and I'll show u why I use a machine

well i think that currier is moving in the correct direction, but imho they are using the wrong plaster, if he would have a look at the scandinavians they fill ont out the chases, beads ect with gips plaster, just the way he did, then they skim the walls and ceilings with sigma self finishing plaster. they work one man to a machine, the material is supplied in a bucket, spray on, bring a splat over it brush internals.then go home every night with a headache because of the noise. the plasterer that i was talking to told me that he only cleaned out his machine once a year, that was when he went on his holidays.

Malc iv seen equivalents of that and, maybe due to the lack of skill of the applicators, it looked shite.

Curry. Just out of interest as you know iv sprayed a bit of finish myself. Why did u leave the reveals? How much are you finding tape and floor protection is costing you? How would you find a room that size if you had to leave done walls for a second hit regarding overspray?? How are you finding the finish on mp, spraying aside? Oh and wtf don't you wear masks when spraying. The mist is brutal

Because real spreads leave the reveals for someone else

tbh flynn i don`t believe a 2-1 gang would piss that area day in day out mate.104m2 each, nah.maybe for a few days, then burn out.thats just my option of course.

You wouldn't get tired of it though bobby after a month the jobs probably finished and then you do something else or skim a pokey 3 bed
