Plastering diet

Been thrown out of most of the pubs in Basingstoke at one time or another....
Best behaviour these days though. Mostly up the bounty for quite pint now.
My brother in law's from Basingstoke, my sister ended up living there (now in fleet). In my drinking days had a few nights out in amazingstoke. Some really tasty nightspot called Chicago sticks in my memory.

Gone now. Fridays were grab-a-granny night in there...

I'm hungry..... haven't got any food with me :( and waiting for this ceiling to go off then clear up before I can leave.

I'm a creature of habit cheese and tomato and ham and tomato proper ham though salt pepper crisps chocolate bar and drink she tries putting fruit in everyday I always return it she said she gonna keep battling til I start eating fruit

So I've just given the mrs a verbal warning about the food being served up at the moment, sick of it. Stodgy crap, empty calories bloody junk. The fruit bowl is empty, I had no choice but to start disciplinary proceedings. What do you guys eat to fuel up for a days work? I like to start the day with a bowl of porridge and try and take a decent lunch with me but it's all been pot noodles and mars bars lately.
Breakfast boiled eggs and brown bread.. the wife always makes my lunch and packs the lunch box usually sandwiches with brown bread normally healthy alot of salad and fruit with a yogurt. although on some morning s usually Friday a big fry up in the cafe is called for (y)(y)

A latte with a croissant for breakfast when I get to or near the job. Then 'lunch' around 11:00 - 11:30 which varies, but bacon & brie with apple and grape baguette, pulled pork and coleslaw baguette, cheese & mushroom with sweet chilli paninni and crab have all featured recently.

@Nisus has had a couple of fry ups, crisps, chocolate fizzy pop etc.

He's 40 and I'm 50 in six months. But with his diet (and borderline alcoholism) he's the one puffing like Ivor the Engine when he gets to the fourth floor.

Learnt the flask lesson and taking sandwiches a long time ago some places we worked were n middle of no where blokes would say bring a drink and food I would forget and starve all day tight fu-ckers never gave me a sarnie either to teach me a lesson

how can any of you work with a belly full of food ? i have a breakfast of a bowl of
Genola and a coffee, one sandwich brown bread at 11 am then an evening meal.

when i was in rehab to learn to eat and exercise properly, 2 meals a week of oily fish , brown bread as white bread just turns into dough in your stomach and is hard to digest. no portion of meat larger then the palm of your hand, plenty of salads and fruit.
exercise is when your heart beats fast this should be twice a day.

Rehab malc

Much improved today, had some nice healthy food mainly fruit and vegetables. Think I'm getting some illness flu or some disease possibly scurvy now though, feel bloody sick. So now I've got something else to moan about.:vomito:

Rehab malc

after my heart bypass, i went into a rehab for 6 weeks learn how to eat and exercise .the idea is to try to get the person to look after their heart. i thought that it was a good idea as i had 3 heart attacks and a bypass and the alternative did not sound very exciting.

why not go and get a flu jab it only costs a tenner and the last thing you want to catch is flu. the health dept. work out the 3 most common strains of flu that will hit uk this year and make a jab up to cover them.

I does make me laugh all the "you must eat" and "you must not eat" advice based on 'studies'. Everyone has different tolerances and requirements. So straight away you know the one size fits all approach is bollox. Then take into account the number of times 'scientifically proven' research turns out to be nothing of the sort and you're back to the thousands of years old approach.

A little of everything and everything in moderation. Genetics will either keep you healthy or kill you long before a diet will.

Good old fashioned ration packs - get yourselves down Millets/Army surplus store and pick up toad n' the hole and spotted dick for pudding, they come vacuum sealed and just need hot water added...if it's good enough for Astronauts it's good enough for us

Spot on. Every year what's healthy and what isn't changes. Lay off too much fat and sugar. Bar that, a little of what you fancy does you good.

i would have eaten fried food, meat, pies, white bread, full fat milk, crisps, salt and i was a smoker. i was never a big drinker. the stress of running a plastering business. when you do everything wrong your body will react.

I think a big part with is its so physical the work that we think we will burn it off and be alright cos we active but inside is need of a full reskim

I'd rather be sick than voluntarily have a needle stuck in to me.

it is only a scratch on the top of your arm ! if you catch flu you will be laid up for about 3 weeks.
It's not the pain, I'm a bit weird with needles, the ones in the dentist aren't too bad and a blood test in the forearm not too bad. But at the top of the arm!! Ouch.

Too many blokes these days think they've got flu when in reality they've only got a bit of a cold. Fecking poofs and their manflu.

I've had proper flu and if you get it bad your bed ridden, I'm just having a whinge. Just a bit achey and sore.
