Plastering over woodchip

Ah the qualifications and experience "dick waving" game? OK, I'll play.

So, worked with my dad as a kid during the '70s on civil engineering jobs such as bridges, tunnels and large concrete structures. City and Guilds with a five year apprenticeship in construction plant and power generation. City and Guilds level four in electrical design and installation (along with the usual part 'P' melarky), city and quilds level three in carpentry. Five years and an NVQ in structural steel erection, NVQ in carpentry, Prince 2 accredited project management. Add to that lot over thirty years in the construction industry working on and running jobs for large companies both in the UK and overseas before starting my own company. So I think I'm qualified in a little bit more than "talkin shite" although I'm pretty handy at that too :RpS_biggrin:

Well that's me, so what qualifications were you waving around like they're impressive again?

I suppose thats impressive, if you want to build bridges.. so joiner, sparky, bridge builder, and done the mandatory relly difficult project management things, ( wifes done them ).. ok, well done... plastering ?? tiling ?? I have c and g adv in both... plus numerous other quals ( and they would make my dick way bigger ..lol ) anyway, think this has run its course and is getting boring now... if you really want to know what I have, pm me and I,ll send ya copies mate..as for tiling over tiles and skimming woodchip, i think i will trust my views there... but if I ever get stuck on a bridge, you;ll be the first one I call....

No? Lol. The ironic thing was i was actually on a rendering job at the time. Biggest single render package in the uk at that time (small detail) looking after it and he came to do the nvq so i had to put a small wall on literally 5-6m. He didnt even stay to watch me polish it.

Nice bloke. Offered me a boarding one as well if i knew any of the lads that would lend me their toolbelt for a picture.

Absolute joke really that system or at least it was when i "did" mine

I thought it was pointless at the time and still never been asked to prove i had 1.

Without sounding like a woman i felt like it belittled the skills i'd gained over the 10 years previous to that.

Good stuff, so we can agree to disagree. :RpS_thumbsup:

It's also handy to have another person willing to pass on work, although I haven't worked on bridges for a while I wouldn't turn it down. If I get any enquiries about tiling a sheet of plasterboard in a garage, or making a climbing frame I'll be sure to pass on your contact details. :RpS_lol:

Ive done with this thread mate, but.. taking the piss out of a tiling training day, when you clearly have no clue.. is a bit steep... by the way, the course is free, so fuk off hey...

So you try to defend a bodge, then when you're called on it you start making assumptions about my skills, qualifications and abilities and try to back that up with yours thinking they're impressive. I respond to your incorrect assumptions and join in with your p1ss taking then you get huffy and start taking the p1ss even more. So I respond in kind and now you want to take your ball home?

I've no idea why you have such feelings of insecurity? You don't need to prove anything to me or anyone else, and trying to do it this way on a forum clearly isn't working. :RpS_unsure:

Welll, you employ lee...

He's a "master plasterer" as described by a woman that works in TV. @Nisus is so good that she and her mum baked him a birthday cake and carried it to him singing happy birthday. :RpS_thumbsup:

Exactly as described, the customer was just really pleased with the work and posted feedback for Lee and me that was quite honestly so good it was embarrassing. In her testimonial she described Lee as a "master plasterer". She really did make him a birthday cake, and bought him beer too.

All he did was plaster her hall, stairs, landing, and kitchen. Oh and showed her his tattoos :RpS_scared:
