putting top coat over already rendered wall

Hi guys

Top coated a wall today and went too heavy on the soft! Schoolboy error.
Need to do it again. Will a slurry coat of sbr and cement hold it,without putting a key in it?

Do you mean your not happy with the finish?

Yes mate. We done a different mix this afternoon and that wall floated up well.
It will be a mornings work to re do it,so needed to know if I can just sbr slurry coat it,without a key?

it is a bit hot for rendering, but if it is just the finish that is poor, i would mix a bucket full of sand and cement about 50/50 a little sbr, very wet. with a gloved hand and a new sponge load the sponge and rub up.

Should of just scratched it and started again tomorrow unless you was working to beads. Don't put a stronger mix on top though, it will just separate over time.
