Just been absolutely rammed with work for the past 3 months non stop....all of a sudden it's dropped off and haven't got anything booked in now for 2 weeks!!!

This time last year it happened funnily enough.....

Any ideas? Is anyone else the same early June?

I'm domestic only

Thanks

on domestics the quiet month is august. children at home and most people thinking about their holiday.
at the moment we are receiving new orders every day, with me having to work 6 days a week.

Well said beddy , thats why wages are better self employed etc ... Pointless working for your self if pricing as if your just going to get paid the same as you would working for somebody else ..... Very valid point :baaa:

Even with high outgoings you should have a higher margin ... Otherwise either pricing to low or made a balls up of investments or what ever has caused the high outgoings ?

What about just plain bad luck? I've had a nice run of work etc. But got no savings out of it because of seemingly constant van/car troubles. Yeah both!! These are still ongoing too!! Been a f**k**g nightmare, these last few weeks!!!

Prices are far too competitive these days there's always someone willing to do the job cheaper some practically for free! Iv lost out on numerous jobs charging a fair rate to guys that are charging peanuts! Luckily I have a decent name about myself that keeps me going!

Agreed but in general you're not constantly paying out to repair cars and vans.

I don't care if I'm on 3 grand a week....I don't want to be off work for a week...I see that as money lost.

If you're happy to sit at home scratching your little peanuts then fine....but I don't need tips about saving money like I've been in this game for 2 months off a gold trowel course.

It was a simple question that I asked...I never asked anything about saving money for times like this....my question was is there a reason.

Happened to me once customer just cancelled a extension ...
I just moved jobs around thankfully ...
School hols is when a lot of peeps don't want stuff going on ....
& when your mega busy you assume it will continue
It always works out though

Technically yes but if your income and outgoings are THAT close you need to reconsider being self employed imo

That would be difficult though, I'm not sure I could get a job paying 40+ a year if I could I'd be all over it lol.
I've said before I pay just over a grand on the mortgage and 900 a month nursery fees before ought else it's frightening really.
That said we are off to euro disney tomorrow for a week so it's not that bad lol
