I guess it depends on the type of jobs you do, we don't price by meterage rather by how long it will take x day rate per person. Many of the jobs i do now I can just do myself with a labourer, before I may require another spread.

When pricing a job I still price in the extra spread if it would have been required by hand, then machine apply. Do the same for painting house, price for painting by hand (2 COATS) but then spray 1 coat, 2 passes wet on wet.

Some jobs I've even priced scratch coat then top coat by hand then machined it in 1 coat OCR. They are good earners.
