Welcome along bud.

gave the refina s*p*r*lex a run out earlier. Liked it much more than the plaziflex refina couldn't be dealing with all the little nicks and kinks with the plastic one. Are these nela trowels the best about or is it just personal choice?

Welcome mate. Got both don't use the plazi since I took a chunk out of it and only ever used it for a final trowel s*p*r*lex is much better than the plazi great to use from laying on to finish.

I got a MT supa flex off wacks about a month a go and i have to say im well impressed with it . No body has ever seemed to of mentioned it before and i hadnt heard of it till wacks rang me

If you mean the Dura-Flex then that's what I have been using all this year!

Lovely flat trowel & a proper work horse, BUT not a proper flexy trowel in my opinion.

Have heard this from a few people now. Marshalltown don't make a s*p*r*lex. Wack are calling it a s*p*r*lex and its a little misleading. Its actually a normal Trowel - Dura-Flex that they are sending out. Naughty sales tactic I feel

Nothing like a NELA or Refina s*p*r*lex

Good day folks,
Iv,e probably got this wrong its supposed to be an introduction to me so hit reply to thread. Anyway my name is dave and I will say from the outset I,m not a fulltime spread like you guys, I,ll get my coat now then:RpS_laugh:, no seriously I started my building site life as a plasterers labourer for 3 years before moving on to 10 years as a hod carrier, 4 years of that on price so been there got t shirt all the clichés etc, but i di pick up the fundamentals of plastering from the guy i laboured for who was a mega fast spread so now i do jobbing building jobs for customers, oh no not a jack of all trades i hear you scream:RpS_laugh:, well iv,e never has to go back on my work so i must be doing something right at 56 years old.
Right iv,e just bought a refina s*p*r*lex trowel for a new plastering job on an old house i,m working on reskim on existing plaster, was planning to use my s*p*r*lex for just finishing the plaster but iv,e heard a few say they also lay the plaster on with it as well, i am old school mt for years, any thought about using it for laying on as well quality looks very good on first impressions but not sure about using it for laying on as well as the blade seems very flexible. i do have a very small area of wall i could give it a try on see how it goes as i,m not under any time resraints on this job, just as well i aint no speed merchant, but hey my customers are happy with my work so at least i get that bit right hehe. sorry for the long post

Just trowel up with it mate, use a little water on the blade of the trowel, you will love it, and you will get used to it after a mix or two... good luck..

Hi Cassie, I,ll be giving its first try probably friday as being a jobbing man keep dropping back on other jobs, but must say it seems like it may lay on but think I,ll take your advice and just trowel up with it, my old mt trowels are a bit past their best bit like their user :RpS_lol: mind you I do ride a unicycle hehe handy for the ceilings, I do actually really ride a circus bike haha.
