Its a repair on an old building, but we'll probably knock the whole length out (only 15 feet between internal corners)) and about foot&half deep.
Actually spoke to K-rend for ideas and they advised against using their renders for overhang work.
I like the idea of running one up on a bench - had nt thought of that - I'll follow up on that tomorrow

I've done similar when I've fixed architraves around windows ( externally )i did not realize how big the cove was. how we fitted the cornice was screw and plug with those metal straps about 1 inch wide with a continuous run of holes in, and fischer resin as the adhesive.
