been rending today and it took ages to go off like 5 hours and still wasnt really ready i just forced it. any tips on how to speed it up without making cracks :RpS_thumbup:

Theres no real short cuts when rendering this time of year , you can add febs wintamix in with your top coat , but it dont make a great deal of difference , just fill your beads out better when scratch coating ,maybe cut down the waterproofer if you use it , keep the top coat around 8mm in thickness and have it on the stiff side when mixing and get it on early , oh and buy a couple of newspapers :RpS_thumbup:

I dont do a lot of outside rendering but when I render tanking inside, which is a lot, I use quickcem ( rapid setting cement ), because of the lack of suction. With out it can take 5-6 hours to be ready for a devil float. Dont seem to cause me any problems, but mine is nearly always skimmed

Absolutely spot on.
So it takes five hours to go off, it's rendering in the autumn it will get on with it. Shortcuts, shortcuts.:glare:

Totally agree, you just adapt yourself and your planning to the conditions. We put the top coat of the ornate project on last week, I draughted in 2 of my other lads for 2 hours , just to help fire it all on quick. Alllon by 9.30 so giving it longer to pick up.

My old shoulders can't take it with the stiffer mixes :RpS_crying:

Forward planning is key for me - less waterproofer as said, and we all know it's gonna hang around this time of year anyhow.
AND NEXT WEEK IT'S GONNA F-FKIN -FREEEEEEEZE !!!:RpS_mad:

Flynny I've just been watching something called ebony facials, it's mint cause all the spunk shows up a lot more you know White against a black background :RpS_biggrin:

just start early, mix it a bit stiffer, less waterproof in scratch, make topcoat a little stronger can help. as said above fill out the bell bead as much as you can. keep the beads tight, maybe scratch it a bit thicker so the top coat is think. other than that just go to sleep and stop moaning
