Rendering over pebbledash

Hi I’m planning to sand/cement render on top of sound pebbledash. What prep work would be best?
Sbr slurry then scratch coat , metal mesh fixed to walls then scratched or fibre glass mesh set in scratch coat?

Sbr slurry, scratch then top coat. Mesh in scratch if worries about potential cracking

I don't think I've ever seen sound enough stone dashing for me to want to put a sand and cement render over it.

It won’t happen not with sand and cement!
Thin coat would be an option but it’s costly.

Absolutely mate. It's a lot of weight to hang on something it's impossible to know how good it is.

There is one up the road from my mothers house.
Looks like the have scabbeled all the stones off the dash to get it as flat as possible.
Looks likely to be a thin coat job.
Hope that lasts as long as the dash has done!

A London external decoration co. recently carried out a spray over stone dash in our village. They sprayed the stone dash with rend aid to stabilise all the stones. Then sprayed an external paint . The finish looks good.

If you need advice on prepping for render you shouldn't be doing the job.
