Was the original skim over plasterboard or painted/Artex ceiling?

I also think thick coat of PVA then bluegrit will do better.

But pva grit are 2 different chemicals and should not be mixed.... think bg posted iyo here in 2009...

People use to thin it out with pva and was told it would seperate
