popped screws in the ceiling
still solid.

have I got to take every screw out and screw next to them.....
loft rooms a headache

a problem for who ever did the boarding. as you can counter charge them.
if it your problem, remove screws if loose, add extra screws , scrim over screws and reskim.

I asked about this removing screws the other day - if you screw next to a loose one then the board is solid to the stud and so is the screw ... nothing should move so the dead scree isn't likely to do much harm is it?

why did the screw pop ?

Drive it in a few mm , put another an inch either side , remove loose and fill with toupret filler , thump board along that stud to check for others before painting
Was probably loose and board pressed or wood twisted or shrunk from age

then another 8 on new roof

Because either the board was somehow loose or the screw was too deep...same thing really, the board moved and the screw didn't.

Heres best advice you will get

Its kids bedroom. Their gonna f**k it up anyway. Fill all popped screws. Buy a big tub of white emulsion. Anymore pops just re screw fill touch up with white emulsion.
Tell kid to put loads of posters up.
Go travel agents . Book a hol for you and clan and drink bacardi from 10 30 am . House will be there when you get back. Loads of popped screws . So go travel agents and just keep repeating
