1200 plastic speedskim all the way got 600 (never used) and 1800 on a pole feels like a windmill
Bigggest difference between st and sf?
So is it just preference in the end.. Others prefer stainless steel?Ones plastic one isn’t

Stainless will bring the water up, plastic won’t. But you already know that..
I use plastic for quick flatten on big areas. Never tried the stainless
We are plasterers for a reason Larry I don’t think academic stuff was our thing well certainly not mine anywayI never knew that - what's the science behind it?
How long do blades last . And do you have to buy their connector for poles . Think i.ll try 600I like the 600 and 1200 plastic ss, does a tidy flatten off saves time and energy.

Best use for it!! Whooosh! No, you have been informed by people who actually want this from the speedskim. It’s actually like a magic wand- does everything you want it to . It can bring it to life , it can put it to sleep, it can scrape the floor for you or use it as a snow slide @JessThePlasterer
If you are any good at handling a feather edge get yourself a 1.2m plastic bladed speedyskimmer. What would ypu recommend. Dont know if its a age thing or fittness or getting up at 4 30 ish with little en but really struggling at moment.
So thinking of either a 18 inch trowel or a speedskim just to flatten .
Which is best speedskim as seem to be a few . Steel or plastic blade . I.m guessing steel needs breaking in or can you just rock on.
Are the ox ones any good
Funny you should say that. I actually finished a ceiling with my Eze spat with the plastic protector still on. My god I'm rough!I tried the speed scim. Everyday for a couple of weeks could get on with it then I took the cover off.
Speak for yourself. We are plasterers for a reason Larry I don’t think academic stuff was our thing well certainly not mine anyway
Did you just google that EinsteinSpeak for yourself.
It's particle vibration that causes the water to rise to the surface.
No I'm just phenomenally clever.Did you just google that Einstein
I’m impressedNo I'm just phenomenally clever.
Oh and I'm also full of shite.I’m impressed
Think plastic 900 for ceilings .If you are any good at handling a feather edge get yourself a 1.2m plastic bladed speedyskimmer.
How far do you go through your set with it mateSpeedskim 600 and 1200 with blue plastic blade and pole attachment is all you'll ever need!
It literally changed my life as I was beginning to get fed up with plastering with just a 14inch trowel! The finish it allows you to get with ease is second to none, game changer.
How far do you go through your set with it mate
All i want it for (to start with) is to flatten. I can see being able to finish with plastic being easier as you need to just wet blade
Yeah makes total sense mate might get the plastic blades now!!I flatten it 2 or 3 times depending on how good I am with timings on the day and how the gears setting, usually alternate which way I'm flattening so it's essentially cross troweled and make sure on the last passes I'm troweling across the light. If that makes sense?
The great thing is as it's plastic and doesn't bring the water to the surface you don't need to worry about over troweling, so you can play with the timings quite a bit without fear of f**k**g anything up!
You use stiltsI spent a year on blue plastic blade speed skim.
Lent it too someone and was left outside in the heat all day....ruined it.
I wasn't paying £80 again.
Stayed on trusty 18" Marshall.
I find the trowel better considering the state of the joinery on new builds.
+ 1 less tool to carry around and baby sit.
