Speedskim ST SF pole holder fix

You'll need one if you ever get a proper gauge on hun

Had them since they 1st came out the old grey blades.

Occasionaly use the 600 on large lids for a quick 1st pass on 1st coat if using bonding on a ceiling though prefer a spat does same job but leaves the material like its had a trowel and not ripley.

No good if 1 coating though or 2 coats from same mix if gears picked up.

1800 good for propping van door open!

You have to be bang on with timing, theres a sweetspot where it flattens in very nice and takes nowt off. too soon it takes it off too late drags
I can run it over any time from straight after putting on without taking loads off. It's all about the angle and pressure, just like ruling anything off.

I can too but what's the point messing with wet gear?

Put it on neat.

Lay it down neater.

Lol...not massivley andy!

Like most new things for plastering have there uses but could live without!
Yeah I go in fits and starts of using it. It has been quite handy on the dreadful carpentry we're on at the moment. Obviously it won't straighten stuff out like a proper rigid rule, but it does help.

dnt tell me your a 1 coat monkey andy? Just takes 2 much off..works lovely 2 coated..i dnt get all this 1 coating as it dsnt save time and know matter what any1 says its a shitter job
No I don't one coat, but I have.
I did three houses about fifteen years ago, all one coated. This was back when it said "apply one 2mm....." on the back of the bags. It was on an award winning development and I can assure you that the finish achieved was as good as when two coating.
I only stopped doing it as I just preferred the two coat system, that might have been different if I'd had a Speedy back then.

Seen some c**t 1 coat infront of me before. He sponged it too. Might have been zombie.

He went around all the reveals putting em on, all the joints filling em out. By time he started putting it on I was laying mine down.

Fair play mate, you went black but came back.

Your point about what it says on the bag is interesting. They since changed that to to 2 coats. Why do you think they changed it? because 1 coat doesn't work sufficiently.

1 coating is just lazy..

No TWO ways about it. 1 coat is rough.

Even if you master it to look nice before you leave the country, it will still crack
Sorry mate but you're just plain wrong. If there had been any problems in those three houses I would definitely have got to hear about it. I was on the same site for twelve years and no one, including the decorator, ever knew that those plots were one coated. That was also on a mix of board and S&C floating.

Would love to see some of the s**t i skim 1 coated lol. more like 3. 1 bond 2 skim.

Just how I was taught. 1 is rough and thats it. also 2 is quicker than 1. took me a few years to understand that but its true

Wrong that 2 coats is better than 1?

But you knew, and that's why you struggle to sleep at night lol

I'd say yes. As I said, I prefer to two coat but also know that a great finish can be achieved one coating.

It was just that the wording confused people. What BG meant was apply one monolithic 2mm coat. They just didn't think that they needed to mention that it should be applied in two coats.
Bear in mind that there weren't any instructions on the bags as such.

Couldn't 1 coat it would feel all kinds of wrong. I like laying down the 2nd coat, what's the process, do you have to lay it down thicker and get on it quicker.

I think lay 1 thick coat and sponge or the one I seen filled everything out like beads and joints etc like the yanks do before painted, then 1 coat. so much faffin but each to their own

So you dub out all the areas that need a thicker coat and 1 coat it. So it's not 1 coating per say.
