I'd rather get an opinion from here as to what's good and what's not than try and find out myself. Evolution happens in all businesses and trades but not all for the best.

@GeorgeT try a s*p*r*lex the Refina one. You can use it straight out of the box use it to second coat your skim then trowel up with it you hardly need any water if any to finish :RpS_thumbup:

As I've said previously the ONLY way to find out what works for YOU is to try and test it yoursel,f just because I can use a sponge float and leave a nice finish doesn't mean you will, same for all the different types of trowels, I prefer the plaziflex Marshy prefers the s*p*r*lex, Only you can decide which works best for you and you can only do this by trying them yourself

Think about this for a laugh... people should be able to finish with a standard trowel to a good finish, before they start fukin about with all the other gizmo;s... ???.. not saying the plastic, s*p*r*lex, speedskim and whatever else arent good, just saying get the basics down first..

I've taken a young lass on who is good with a sponge!!??

I have two coated since leaving school but I have tried the sponge and it works well fro me also. The secret is in the timing just like all of plastering. Some people are close minded and need to welcome new methods of work. I will use it mostly with knauf plasters which trowel up lovely. I have also tried with board and multi and again the finish is superb. For me.Not a mark on it. You could leave without painting if you wanted to. It is alos fantastic for reveals headers and feathering. Each to there own but I am a fan.
