stainless but i always have used that and only had this problem recently, y's that though al?

i keep meaning to get a carbon trowel, but how comes ive never really had this problem in the past?

It's not been that cold where I was today and my mate has a carbon steel trowel with the same problems. It's the powder...rubbery fatty greasy and doesn't fill right in the early stages of the set.

Stainless seems to slide over the surface, whereas carbon has more purchase :RpS_thumbup:

it seems that we have gone full circle, we always turned are noses up at stainless as we thought they where to thick, and now we are returning to carbon, because stainless slide over the surface

i posted about it not last week the week before, it was sh!t it kept pushing all over the place, not all the wall but in places maybe where it was on thicker, it wouldnt set then all of a sudden bang it had gone

tell ya what it reminds me of,,, have you ever added water to corn flour and messed about with it (if you havent you should try it kids love it lol)

need to get a new trowel aswell me thinks i ran the small tool down then back of the trowel today to clean the snots off and i ended up with about 50 dinks all down the blade, the ss has got wafer thin
