13/5 carbon mt is my go too trowel, I used bigger trowels years ago but I find all it does is put massive strain on my elbow wrist etc. I Use a big superproff twisting handle trowel for flatting off and that’s over 20 inch I think. would hate to lay on with it thoI’ve never used anything bigger than 14”. Been looking at 18” MT but is it really any better?
that sweaty couldn't handle 18"...... wrist strength as limp as a vicars handshakeFfs!

I wrap all my handles in tennis grip tape, I’m f**k*d with out it, best way taking tension out yours tendons thicker gripI find the handles a massive difference on a trowel

Used to do that years ago with tyzack trowels, I never liked the handles on them and preferred the handles on the Marshalltown trowels.Agree ive put the ox handle on my nela miles better
What's the GF use ?11 and 13 for me
Are you still using the Nela to finish?16" for laying on first pass , 18" to finish
And then you wake up in a cold sweat?14 to lay in 18 to flatten and 14 to finish
