Used uni loads of time now love the stuff !rule of thumb for me bang it on first cost flatten as quick as possible .leave for 10 then second coat and if required a third coat tight as possible will suffice.

Don't know if it would help or anyone wants to see it but I am thinking to record a few sets on jobs over artex, old dry surfaces and general reskim crap over next couple of few weeks and post up to show timings and why to 3 coat if needed.
Always felt that the information out there is okay but would be better shown.

The stuff is to unpredictable. Regarding setting, that is my problem with it.

Do you not have an issue with paying more for a premium plaster then having to put a third coat on? What's the point?

I used it last week for first time(y)....
straight over tiles:frenetico:....

Disagree, being able to turn up to a job and start laying on straight away to eggshell painted walls is amazing to me. Will be gutted if it fizzles out. Wish it was cheaper, but cost is often (not always) irrelevant.

No issue paying extra 3rd coat not all the time anyway ! 3rd coat would be a a few board full if that ! Now in my opinion if your weighing up a couple of quid on a job then jib it !

It's not about a couple of quid on the job, it's the whole package, having to pva certain areas, having to 2nd coat straight away, having to 3rd coat (WTF) certain areas, the overinflated price of it just adds insult to injury.

Im on me fone
so dunno if this is gonna work...
Got the usual emeither and it mentioned unifinish..
Now I remember this s**t coming out and thinki.g yeh right etc..
So ive just skimmed me first bare artex lid for about 2 years or prolly more (been busy with other s**t, just built an extension, even got some site basher in to spread it and immediately regretted it)
Anyway long story short id forgot how quick artex pulls and after giving it 1 almost neat pva I struggled like f##k on about 25 square, got it back in the end but after seein this unifinish is actually getti.g some exposure...
So whats the crack, worth it? Im doing all kinds of stuff again znd not much plastering so im well unfit, plus im getting old lol but my finish is still good so people still throw plastering at me and what are these extra time sachets all about? Is it just trisodiu

I'd rather have that couple of quid in my pocket and only use two Coats than give it to a big company so there ceo's can buy another yacht! In all seriousness it has a place, low suction painted surfaces it's a god send, anything other than that it's too unpredictable.

Back to the original thread post off @Singlesman though...he been offered it at£4.99
If I tried 2 bags that was out of date on boards or painted and it was ok I would buy the rest of the pallet.
I get through a pallet within one or two weeks on domestic jobs.

As regards cost I would charge the customer a few pound more for bags .how much wastage do you get using multi or board ?believe me when using this uni I always make a extra effort to gauge correctly.

Did a little mix this morning thought I would share it to maybe help any domestics thinking of using unifinish. Not a big area but always do bits like this in homes.House built 1902 walls paper stripped dry surface abit of hardwall on chases a couple of days old.1st coat nearly a bag dried quick on hardwall and unpainted bits, mixed up under a half bag with what was left from first laid in,1st flattening straight away hardwall was bone dry just ignored that and tidied up the rest,on 2rd flattening grabbed 2 scoops of gear that was left in bucket and topped up the hardwall chases now they are workable, finish 2rd trowel off cleaned up cills and then quick cross trowel all done 1hr 20 minutes.
