Where on earth are the apprentice plasterers these days . Was talking to my mate who works with me I'm 46 hes 47 between us we cant remember seeing a young spread on site in way over 10 years
My apprentice has just finished college . He was the only apprentice there for two years . They didn’t even have a tutor

Manchester's no better . Wigan's even worse everyone's a spread there . Well think they are
Absofuckinlutely! I’m not from these parts I moved here to be near my wife’s family but holy s**t there are a disgusting amount of plasterers in Wigan. It’s why I spend 2 hours a day in the van to work in better areas. I’ll leave them fighting for the scraps and killing themselves for peanuts

the trade use to be a well respected career with good earning potential. However there are now far too many plasterers working for wages and lets be honest you can train to be a plumber or an electrician and not get your hands dirty and earn just as much if not more.

All doing spark and gas.

Give it 10 year and they’ll be massive call for spreads. And way too many sparks n gas.

Then you cheapys can put prices up
Did l2 plumbing last 2 years at college at night school. Tutor said drop out rate for 16/18 yr olds is 40%.
On my night course about the same dropped out over the 2 years .all were grown men and woman who had paid for the course.
Some lost their jobs due to dropping out.

Bottom line is some will go the distance and some wont ....
