Loads of spelling wrong in that post hope you get what I was trying to say.

Off to bed now loads of outside rubbing up to do now the weather is warmer :)

Hopefully get some money now we can finish them :)

What 90 metres a day is expected of you, by whom exactly??

Whoever these people are, you want to tell them to fu.ck right off. Are you self employed?
 
yeah and they will tell you to fcuk right off. of course he is self employed and one of a few on here who knows what its really like on site
 
Henry some of the lads i work for dont do commercial stuff more private housing so chances are there will be a couple of lads there or you might get pulled off so alot of its daywork because you wouldnt get runs, they will push you though because they've still got a price on it bit s**t reall but its work at the mo, if it's a proper daywork job I.e fiddly or there on daywork too they usually chill out
 
Well spunky, I think it is better just to earn something then nothing look likes it's going to be another hard year ahead for a lot of folks. I think the domestic side is dead at the moment so site work is the way to go.
 
Thats it mate, I'm not one of those that bounce around sites I work for a firm and go with the flow for a bit .....hopefully the domestic stuff will pick up it's still February :RpS_thumbup:

I have been on plenty of sites mate and none have had minimum amounts that you must do each day, if enough isn't getting done they just get an extra gang in.

Everyone works at different speeds, do they not?

If a bloke was turning out an immaculate 60 metres a day are you telling me that he would be chucked off site?

Not all spreads are self employed.

Ok this week for example i go to a site in liverpool they say thetes 2 houses ready for skimmin theres 27 bags in a house and a house is worth590quid and they both need to be finished by friday

no i did not but i can pick up from his posts that he is a price worker and he has stated times he has started and finished work that he aint on the cards
 
Yeah that sucks. There's enough pressure trying to make bad prices pay without firms applying more with deadlines.
 
Free rider and spunky, where are you from if you dont mind me asking.... only ive never heard a mix called a set before, in manchester we refer to mixes as gaiges. also would love to see a gaige rubbed up with a sponge just to see it done as ive been in the game for ten years and have never seen it done, Ive worked on every site you could think of and met 1000+ spreads and never seen them do it either. Kane I hope you find some work pal, 3 days work since xmas, thats really bad that Ive never had it that bad!!!! I know what everyones sayin on here though, i remember a time when you could go do 2, 2 bag gaiges a day an go home at dinner time, only turn up on a friday to book in, and still have the site agent eating out of your hand. These days the price is that s**t you have to do 3 3 bag gaiges a day work til half 4 in fear of goin home early in case somebody sees you and work most weekends, and have site agents coming into wherever your skimming giving you grief coz theres mess on floors, ridiculous!!!! and to top it off these idiots we are all subbying for pay us by cheque every two weeks! worlds gone mad!!!!! luckily I was wise when it was good and saved a load of money and do mostly private work now around doing up my own propertys. Fingers crossed i would never go back working on site again! they want too much off you for nothing! Rant over.... sorry about the essay
