What happened yesterday is we had a massive thunderstorm storm and the poor dog really doesn't like storms so had to sit with him through and after it, I haven't got lights in the bathroom yet as was moving them so it was dark, and I'm not going in there with those brick spiders about

Got a 25 litre tub, haven't made a dent in it

I've given it a go, it's got damp spots and hard spots, when I try to trowel it I'm leaving drag marks so not too sure what I'm doing wrong

Just single coated @ 2mm

Started 1/2" from the bottom working up, then did a little drag to the bottom

Just single coated @ 2mm

Second it with fresh stuff, you’ll notice the difference. Wait till it pulls in abit before second coat. Try it on your next wall and see how you find it.

You need to flatten in your first coat and put your second on quite tight so it looks pretty much like your last photo only flatter. It will take time to suss this out but it will make it much easier to trowel up. I think you give it a first trowel to quick you need to let it pick up and use pressure on the trowel if you need it, I suspect your trowel is no where near broken in, is it stainless steel? If so you may find it easier with a carbon steel trowel which I will probably get a s**t load of abuse from all the kids with their new dangled things

Start at the top and work to your right if you are right handed and your left if left handed

Left to right, top to bottom always with skim. Little things that will make a difference
