To answer original question, a mediflex is a lot softer than an xtralite. I have both, xtralite is very nice trowel, again medi only for finishing. Last wipe of if uv it well flattened after 2 passes can use it. But because it's still a flex trowel it will bend around ridges or ribs if they aren't properly ironed out by then. Will look the part til painted or light shines down it. Iv used xtralites skimming now for 5 or 6years and they are nice trowels.Just ordered medi with what people were saying on here but had a go with lads xtra lite with him being of( the trowel that come from no where and I sold him) and it was like painting it on .
So what' similarities n difference between these trowel
That' all i was gonna use it for . More to make things easier on jointsTo answer original question, a mediflex is a lot softer than an xtralite. Speaking of which Any one know do marshalltown do them 14x5 or is it just the permas they do that size, I've only seen xtralites 14x4 3/4
You're sorted then mate. That' all i was gonna use it for . More to make things easier on joints

Think that' what makes it best all round trowel imo. Though after using nella for few months it seemed loads wider and I now prefer nella handles. Though that might be cause it was lads and had half a bag of skim round handleA well worn 13 by 5 extralite is fairly flexible but firm enough not to glide over like the mediflex. If I had to pick a trowel that comes nearest to a mediflex this is it.
I don't believe it is, maybe works for some lads, but Its not for me. Personally think it's a f**k up waiting to happen but maybe can work that way. I won't risk it though. I had bother before using the super a pass too early, learnt from that one. Medi not much firmer really.I read quite a few lads on here use Medi from laying on second coat all the way through ...no comment just wondering if they think it's rigid enough to get everything flat
Definitely have to agree there with yea. Only use the medi on the last rub butility like all things plastering timing and conditions are most importantI don't believe it is, maybe works for some lads, but Its not for me. Just bought a mediflex and a mini mediflex , two reason, guys on here and irishspread recommended it and @Plasterers1StopShop have a great rep for customer service , Ps the Xmas tree bonus ball draw is on Saturday evening, any sponsors willing to give secondary prizes are welcome ,
Don' like one coating . Never seem to catch it right but seen it done to a good standard . Think they went over beads n joints first though.I just f**k skim on wall one coat. 2 trowels of my mt. Then last trowel with the s*p*r*lex. Next set. Not rocket science. It's only skim.
What makes 2 better than 1. I still get 2mm on the wall in one coat.I’m not a one coat fan tbh , no matter how it’s done I can never get a good finish, I’ve worked with a lot of plasterers from all over the u.k and never seen it as good as my 2 coat system but am always have my mind open too someone getting good finish with one coat

In summer I get 3 sets done for 3 to half 3. I don't play with the skim to much.we worked with a plasterer who 1 coated, we 2 coated. he had 3 hits per day, against our 2 hits. we covered about the same area each. we where on our way home he was still troweling up his 3 rd. hit. this was the regular difference between 1 or 2 coats.
