Could also be dust inbetween coats. Definitely take a course. I've got over 30 years experience at life but generally cock up if I try some thing new that I don't understand
Day out last weekend in northwich. Good day. Birroeed some gear off my pal. Caught 12 fish. Not a clue what was what. This was biggest thing I got. Anyone sellng a course rod?
I use a tri fibre case. Comes with squared foam insert top and bottom. Works well for all my Venetian trowel and I keep super flex in there too. Had it a few years and can't find my particular case on the website but it was about 50 quid
Done it before on my own stuff and never had a problem. Just because something isn't the noŕm doesn't mean it's wrong. The description on that grit clearly states it can go onto ceramics tiles. I've messed around testing and it will even go on glass and you can then plaster on that too. Any old...
You can be taught a finish like this. Tough to pinpoint as it's a picture but it looks like a fine grained marmorino. Or possibly a liquid product such as cadoro
Hi mate. If your nearer to Essex I would say go to goldtrowel. I know Andy personally and think he's the best at the game. If you were up north I would say Andy Robinson as I've heard good things about him.
At goldtrowel you can also learn micro cement and matallics and lots of different...
It's worth it if you can get the work marra. Regardless of money it's a nice change. Cleaner working environment and more relaxed. Micro cement is easier than Venetian too. If you make an error it can be sanded and polished a lot easier
Fair one. It does look a lot better than in pictures. It's quite dark but that's what my missus wants. The white sink and toilet should stand out nicely
Not got many but here's the current state if the bathroom. Polished ceiling. Tadelakt walls to 3 sides. Vesuvio rock wall (venetian) to shower wall. Micro cement floor. Just got to seal the floor then I can fit the bathroom
I'm just doing a bathroom at my house at the minute. Floor in micro cement. Walls in tadelakt and ceiling in polished Venetian plaster. Will drop some pics on this week if I can get it finished
It would be the perfect option for your needs. Some are actually waterproof without the sealer however it protects the colour in the product ad without the sealer the colour would fade over time. Micro is hard wearing and will take a knock. Price wise depends quite a lot on product, finishand...
Also there is a dedicated section on the forum for micro cement and Venetian plaster. If this link doesn't work then scroll down on the main forum page until you see it https://www.plasterersforum.com/#marble-venetian-and-micro-cement-plastering.86
I don't think that it's going to take off any more than it has already. There is a place on the market for micro and it's just another option of which more products are becoming available. Tho k it's just a customer's choice as to whether they choose micro, resin, polished Crete, tiles etc. As...
No worries marra. Just done as quick search and the Oldham Times looks the most local to the area. Failing that there is the Manchester evening news but I think that's more of a wide spread paper that covers the whole of the greater Manchester county
Sorry to hear about your mum. Best bet would be to go and see what local papers are available in your nearest paper shop. And ask what free papers get delivered. I think these days people still peruse through free papers and are more likely to see the notice
I would say yes mate. If your switched on and you pay attention on a course you will learn a lot. I'm not saying you will go on straight away to smash a big wall on your own but time and practice gains experience egg. Being clean is massive though. Any speck of crap can ruin your finish. You...
Hello. Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy. As said it depends in your sub strait. For Venetian plaster or micro cement it would need a plastered finish flat and Matt. If the customer wants the wall to absorb the water I would say this isn't a good idea. The wall will change in...
Hi mate, I've heard of a few jobs failing before but I think that co.es down to the manufacturers product. They have predominantly been from a new company trying to get on the micro cement boom market. If your going to do it then find a company that have been producing and selling micro cement...
As said marra, definitely get on a course. There is a lot you don't see when watching a video. If your trying to vein with paint then make sure it's lime based if using lime based Venetian plaster as an acrylic paint Will react with lime plaster
Anyone had it done. Looking at options at the minute and this is one of them but I don't know anything about it other than each companies own personal selling points
Probably is nicked but the owner will never see it again and nothing can be done so you may as well give it a good home. Needs some wire wool and oil to give it a good clean
Just go in and see the staff at your local Travis. Takes less than 10 mins to set up. I'm dead pally with staff at mine. I get decent prices on materials across the board. Free delivery too
Hi mate. There are other kinds but they are just as tricky to do if you don't know what your doing. If your on a budget then as mentioned maybe go with the large panels if your adverse to tiles. Your plasterer who is doing the rest of the house will either know and understand Venetian, tadelakt...
You have to be prepared to travel if you live in an area where the work out prices most customers. I'm in Manchester and the majority of local work to me is hale. Other than that it's a travel and stop over. The money you can make is well worth it. Your friend who only did 2 jobs should have...
Chester is a lovely day and night out. I'd recommend the queens hotel next to the train station. Easy to get to by rail and has a massive car park if driving. York is a lovely day out and the city is fill of history and interesting building especially the shambles area. Chester gets my vote of...
