If you are using wood wool boards like I think you are describing, you do not need to dampen them.
I do 3 sand to 1 lime putty mix. (Add fly ash or brick dust in winter to speed up the set)
Mesh embedded in scratch coat and no need for fibres then.
When scratch is sufficiently hard dampen down...
I’ve got a wall to over plaster and make flat.
It’s currently sand and cement and all over the shop. It has some crazing but it is solid absolutely rock hard.
I’m thinking I might rendergrip it and pull it out plumb and flat with bonding with the mesh in it and then skim it to finish.
Anyone...
Don’t know what cream of tartar is like in multi I’ve only ever put it on my scampi.
I had the xtratime for free to try out. It’s usually a rolling gauge if a massive area.

Mix the first coat a bit stiffer and it goes on nicer.
I got given a few sachets of halftime and xtratime and it really does improve multi. But I’m not going to get them just to improve a mix.

I have a couple of rooms on a new build I’m Plastering that have marmox board fixed in the bathroom and an ensuite.
The client wants them skimmed and a couple of feature walls in either Venetian or micro-cement.
I’ve never gone over marmox before personally so do you have any tips please?

We were friends before he was a spark. Our friendship has been frayed a few times. He’s a top bloke but some of the boys he employs are complete waste of time!

I was skimming an extension before. It was an electrician’s own house. When I turned up one morning he had not got all the boxes done so he was rushing around getting them done for me. The bloke is a mate so I gave him a hand. The thing that really pissed me off tho was the fact that the two...
I saw a bloke using a petrol one before. I’d never seen or heard of them.
I thought someone was using a strummer in the plot next door, petrol fumes and smoke coming out the window!

How thick is the footing Danny? Underpinning would be a waste of time on a wall of that size just like others have said. In the time you would have faffed about with the underpinning you would have knocked the flank down and redone it all.
Helibar would be a make do job and quite strong but you...
The biggest problem when doing float and set is when door linings are on the piss. Otherwise I find it pretty easy to get walls flat and plumb despite block work being bad because you set all your beads around windows and externals perfect and can rule off from them. I always check the internal...
How do you set up a monthly payment @Wayners? I’ve just had a hefty tax bill! I normally have half a year on cis but last year was all private work.

In my world the customer pays for the materials and a little bit on top. I tend to put my own rates up every year too.
If some of you out there are so concerned about the cost of materials just give your customers a shopping list and get them to order the materials for you?

Krend is a manufacturer same as Weber parex etc... krend is not a name for a finish but a lot of people think that a scraped or textured finish is called krend for some reason?

It’s amazes me that some don’t put nothing on materials.... If I could get away with 20% I probably would. I do get a good trade discount on a lot of things through my local merchant.

I’ve used blue grit before over cement board before. It still pulled a little and had some blebs but was ok in the end
