    If the job has been treated for damp then i would use a renovation plaster for a backing coat like wykamol (other brands available) its lightweight and you can skim next day job is a goodun.

    Tou-pret TX10 filler is lovely gear to use bit pricey tho £11.99 for a 2 kilo box but very nice to use and there external filler is almost like a thin coat render again very good for patching prior to painting.
