Get an off cut off each and try it. Water will soak in to MR board not through SBR.

A standard board with a coat of SBR is more waterproof. Water resistant is a way to make people pay more. If they get damp they snap over you back when you pick them up same as standard board.

Ox semi flex are just like nela mediflex. Nela make both.

I like staples for plasterboard, brads on overskims if it's floated.

Ali express do one that takes makita batteries.

I use a vonhaus one, fires crown staples and brads. It's really quick and you get your beads on really tight. On rsj's the joins are seamless. There are loads of makes now really cheap. You won't regret buying one.

If you can't get one, ox semi flex are similar. Made by the same company I think.

All that plaster needs cleaning off the switch. Turn the power off at the mains first. The wet plaster is keeping the connection on.

Proper plasterers call it a hawk.

Andy there are some clowns on here who have not got a clue why you solid dab boards. I feel sorry for the people that employ them.

It makes my laugh when there are pictures of dabs showing through. There doesn't seem to be anyone working in people's homes that knows how to dab properly and the reasons why it should be done properly.

Give it a bit of a rake out and easy fill, jobs a good un! The extreme heat lately will cause shrinkage.

You will never get it straight and plumb,that horse bolted when it was built. All you can do is manage the bump. As mentioned cut out about 2ft above and 2ft below the join and see what's behind. We always put a full board over the joist level to try and stop movement on timber frame.

Crown staples are best on plasterboard. Brad nails on over skim. Cordless brad gun to fire them in straight through the bead.

Mesh straight on timber, use or make a window gauge. You are making work for yourself.

Render is not great, but the light is pure stupidity!
