    I’ve had it tear up a bit in odd patch’s not all over. I think it’s better trowelled up when it’s a set a bit more than you would normally do, with more water.

    I was taught to skim up and down first coat. Left and right second coat to help keep as flat as possible. I also trowel up in opposite directions.

    You’ll get a 600 and 1200 for less than £100 so I would go with that. You will easy sell them on eBay if you don’t like them.

    Tbf put an edge up any wall in any building and there are always bits that aren’t completely bang on. No ones perfect, just some are closer than others.

    Try ruling your skim. Get a speed, spat eze skim what ever and have a blast. They aren’t mega money.

    Only ever normal s+c. Weak mix and long drying times between coats. Most of the membrane manufacturers have specs for how they like it done.

    Ian, I have know idea how late starters get on. Most plasterers will have started off labouring for £20-40 a day. Your going to struggle to find a plasterer that will pay you a decent wage and let you loose on his job so you can take his clients when your up to speed. Sent from my iPhone...
