If you believe what I said is bollox you need to actually learn why you are doing what you are doing.
MR board is not designed to be skimmed, it is designed to be tiled directly onto or tape a jointed.
There is absolutely no point skimming MR board as the moisture resistance will be lost.
Back...
MR board has a slight waxy finish on the board surface. I have seen skim just she'll off this board untreated. As said, treat with thistle bond it as the spec but other bonding agents will be fine.
If tiling, I would tile straight onto the board, this will give a better hold for the tile...
Thank, i appreciate that.
I'm pretty old school where my word is my bond and take everything at face value, what i have to remember is that not everyone is like that.
This is why I'm struggling with it. Normally I would either reprice or just bin the job, however, I get a fair bit of work off of these guys and I don't want to screw them over, but equally I don't want to be screwed over either.
The tacker is in the same position but has just been told to suck...
I appreciate that @church, I am saying I have been told one thing and it's another. I have been through the drawings and the scope again tonight and there is nothing in there about the height.
I was told to assume a height of 2.4, for which I quoted.
The increase in height throws everything out as I will now have to do this from some form of scaffolding.
I have covered myself in the quote, I just need a magic formula for the extra height (if there is one lol).
Thanks guys,
I'm just a bit mindful of losing the work if I requote, I have blokes lined up and supposed to start in a fortnight. This should take me up to mid January
I recently priced a reverb job for some builders I work for from plans (conversion of offices to flats) and was told all new plasterboard and 2.4m height. Quote was accepted.
Poked my head in today and ceiling height is 2.8 and all existing brick walls are to be made good and skimmed. I am...
Had an email this morning to cancel next week, apparently their daughter is having an operation next Monday and they don't know how long she is going to be on hospital for blah blah.
This has been booked in for 6 weeks and she emails me now.
I'm sure I'll be able to cover the 5 days but that's...
Why wouldn't you do the glossing too?
No client is going to give you the emulsion job to then have to get someone else in to finish off the woodwork.
Would they?
I bought from him, Mike, not very sticky it actually walked across the carpet and tore easily!
I thought it might be a rogue roll so emailed him, to be fair he sent another foc but it did the same. Shame ss its the cheapest I found.
I use the direct building products one, thick and sticky.
My prices are only good for a month after which we would have to requote.
Requote and add the cost in to that.
Be careful though as he may ask for the moulds or his deposit back.
Same as mate, I have a couple of subbies that work with me and try to book as much as possible. Sometimes you can move a few dates around, other times its impossible.
I book monday to friday with the option of a saturday if I feel like it. (I havent felt like it for the last 6 years )...
I think my paddle is a collomix one, currently in my Eibenstock. Has been used in other mixers that have died, most have a universal thread.
As said, get a negative twist to pull mix down. :RpS_thumbup:
Do not send this, just take the money with a smile mate.
His response to the second paragraph would be " but you offer free quotations".
You will never win against people like this, move on to the next one mate, you'll soon forget about it.
