Advice on plastering shower feed pipe.

Hi folks

Am in the process of retiling my bathroom and am looking to fix some of the deeper holes to make level before the new tiles go on.

When removing the tiles over the shower feed and electric supply it has been left like this with the tile across the top. My thought is to add bonding then a light skim for the tile to sit flush on.

Will the plastic water pipe be ok sitting as is in bonding? Or will it sweat and deteriorate the plaster? I guess I could encase it inside a 22mm pipe before the plaster if that is needed?

I should add this is just my own flat and i'm no professional plasterer, just after advice. Figure if it's been ok like this for 50 odd years it will do me another few decades the same way.

I don't have the space around the bath walls to install board without going back to brick. So hoping to just correct the plaster, let dry and if needed paint on a tanking kit before tiling

They are moisture resistant not waterproof for wet areas such as showers etc. The regs also say that the boards should be sealed on the joints as well before tiling.

Gaffa tape the pipe and bond it. Not the best, but better than no gaffa and no bonding.

in what way?
they are still far better to use than standard board if you're boarding a wet area.......offer more moisture resistancy (clues in the name) and will hold the weight of tiles better

A standard board with a coat of SBR is more waterproof. Water resistant is a way to make people pay more. If they get damp they snap over you back when you pick them up same as standard board.

Get an off cut off each and try it. Water will soak in to MR board not through SBR.
