Lots of threads on here about back pain, I have sciatica which I manage using various techniques, some found on here others from physio etc. My condition is best managed by exercising to improve core strength and the glutes (buttocks)

I picked up this exercise off face book and I am really noticing a difference, hope it helps any fellow sufferers . I am on 90 seconds , and it is much , much harder than it looks :RpS_biggrin:

looks great. i gonna try planking right now :RpS_thumbup: try acupuncture for sciatica. i was at a stage where i couldnt even tie my laces. then went to five sessions of acupuncture about thirteen years ago and havent had a problem since. i was lucky i guess. you might end up with a cowboy acupuncturist and end up n a wheelchair

Back pain & planking

5 minutes no problem :RpS_thumbsup::RpS_lol:

i did it against a wall instead of the floor as there isnt much room in my bedsit. it was easy. did five minutes :RpS_thumbup:

i have the fluid missing between my bottom two vetebrae....but my back specialist says no one will operate on back pain....dont want to get into the long winded argument i have with them over it though.....pain killers painkillers and more.....yet my 70 year old father in law, had 2 operations for the exact same problem, within 2 years, when he was 70 and 71? yet at 36...and could have 30 years of work and paying taxes left in me, they wont do ****!

Gonna give this a go, I've struggled with my back for over 10 years now, tried physio and chiropractor and still it hurts. This week especially is bad so any things worth a go

Plank gets easier pretty quickly learnt some pretty good core excerises in a capoeira class I do now and again. I think combined with stretching regular it does seem beneficial.

whats capoeira? cant be arsed googling :RpS_blushing:

It's a brazillian martial art I never intended to do it but they started doing a class where I train normally so I decided to have a go. I'm not naturally flexible and are completely useless at it but have found some of the excersises quite good and it got me stretching.

Once should be ok
Or you might pull a muscle and then you will out for longer as it works loads of muscle you dont normally use
