Just skimmed two ceilings yesterday over green grit!
Went back today to do the walls today looking up at the ceiling and praying it doesn’t come down!

Used some blue grit on a kitchen ceiling last week ...some dregs I found in the shed. Customer said I thought you were using green grit, so I said this goes green when the plaster reacts with it.
You
Should've just pissed in it to turn it green
Me too, but it’s bitten me on the arse bigtime on this jobUsed it quite a few times.
Fingers crossed hey!

Smooth paint, but not shiny, like an egg shell , bostick have said I applied it over a dusty wall, as if I’d do that ffsWhat background were you going over Andy?
The whole room 12 ft high ffs, I’ve ended up putting peel away on the walls to take it back to the bare plasterSmooth paint, but not shiny, like an egg shell , bostick have said I applied it over a dusty wall, as if I’d do that ffs

na no need, peel away worked well, over £400 tho just for that , bg bond it , multi and beads plus 2 days plasteringscabbler?
Has anyone ever had any luck with a manufacturer holding their hands up and admitting fault, I doubt it.Smooth paint, but not shiny, like an egg shell , bostick have said I applied it over a dusty wall, as if I’d do that ffs
I sent them a few stinking emails and phone calls, they wouldn’t even come out and test the primerHas anyone ever had any luck with a manufacturer holding their hands up and admitting fault, I doubt it.
Render is the same. Anything goes wrong they’ll find something to blame it on rather than the products.

If it was 25 years ago it would of killed me financiallyOuch and fooking ouch!
Feel your pain!
I don’t cut corners stew, I do everything by the book, and if it takes me a bit longer than priced for then so be it I’m not bothered, so this is a right fuc kerFeel your pain mate as prep is really important in this game but it’s hard to ever truly know what the f**k has been put on walls and ceilings over the years

Same as you say,I don’t know what it is but that fan pattern is the one that give me a problem years ago.its not the grit
its that distemper your skimming onto
seen that pattern fail a few times

Best stuff ever. Unfortunately we don't have a Parex dealer nearby now.Microgobetis is the only way.
Yes, but better to slide than shell. I whack a bit of render mesh on it if it slides, sorts it out immediately.I agree fella, but on occasion I've had an issue with skim sliding on the paint...
Never thought of that buddy..Yes, but better to slide than shell. I whack a bit of render mesh on it if it slides, sorts it out immediately.

Definitely not distemper, I done the bedroom in bg bond it at the same time, (I was using what I had in store) and fingers crossed everything is goodI didn't realise that last thumbnail is a video!
Yes, based on what I can see in that vid, I'm inclined to agree with you.
However.... there may be more than one problem, because it looks like the plaster shelled off the grit AND the grit is flaking off the distemper.
I say that because you can clearly see 'clean' green grit on the wall (no skim on it) before the grit is then scraped off the distemper/wall.
something needs to be done , I said to the geezer at bostick, your a multi national company and I’m a one man band ,I’ve got no chance !!!! But I ssid I’ll go on social media and tell em what’s happened.Could we have a sticky picture on here showing the failure and stating the dodgy product. That would rattle their cage.
