Busier than before the financial crash???

Absolutely madness was even contemplating a labourer had asked a few people but other things got in the way. I think maybe Christmas rush is calling. I must be getting 2 _3 calls a day this week. I hate knocking work back but they won't wait even doing nights to please people.

It's hard sometimes to find the balance.. I was doing some rendering for an old school spread 74 kid you not fit as fiddle still working fitting bathrooms at a really good standard.. Anyway he said the one regret he had was missing out on time with his children growing up. It hit home he was saying the same thing how he chased and chased missed out a hell of a lot.. Il only do it till I'm a bit ahead then can relax again.
I couldn't even get to my little ones parents evening my little boy on his first day got asked to draw something anything he drew me and next to me was a spider made me gulp especially for the time I've been getting to spend with him lately he always thinks about me.
Sorry for the long paragraph.

No I appreciate that.. I feel you follow your parents mentality sometimes, didn't see my old man much growing up because he was the same... Miss actually doing things with him other than work.
I hope I enjoy it as I get older.

We can all do that, trying to keep customers happy or trying to have a few quid behind us as a bit of security for our family’s.The memories of hard times and the lure of good ones. One things for sure they don’t make them anymore that can handle both. It’s hard to find a balance but for me personally the woman going back to work was a huge help.First of all it was a few pound extra and even better was she’d be that tired to be annoying me with the usual bullshit!.

She's started uni mate so I'm the main provider she will soon take the piss out of my wage once passed. So il put my effort in for now.. I'm feeling in a really good mood at the minute working together well which is helping I was shiting myself a bit how it was all going to go but no arguments finding a good routine.

When I work stupid hours and the money comes in with one hand and out with the other and don’t have a lot left I do wonder how folk on minimum wage manage. We earn fairly decent money.

Ha he doesn't live there now, he bought it when he came back from the war, and got a regular job and met my nan, life was simpler then, 90 in a few weeks and he hasn't got a pot to piss in, just loads of good stories.
Still make sure that you're his favourite grandson. Miss both my granddads.

If you got it spend it

Not got it lend it
I was bought up to believe that borrowing money was just a necessary evil to buy your home. To then get it paid off as quickly as possible and never borrow money for anything else.
Best decision I ever made was to turn my back on this philosophy and to borrow, borrow and borrow again. Just use what you borrow wisely and make it work for you.
I'd be very interested in the sort of thing that @malc has got into.
I genuinely love hearing about tradesmen (and Jess) breaking the mould and having making more than just a wage.

My grandad was a ledge, he was one of those that came across stern and scary to people but when I was three, if I fell asleep on him he wouldn’t move for hours the big secret softy.

Always think it’s mad how much change that generation saw, he was born in 1912 and horses were still regularly working in the street

I got into bad debt when I was 18 on credit cards. Scared the life out of me I got pretty deep.
Apart from a mortgage I don’t like touching any debt at all. Makes me work harder to save and not pay the hefty interest.
Less debt is more freedom. Bury yourself in debt and you really are stuck in the rat race.

and make more
Tbh I’m a big believer in spending money

To honest I’ve never had more than £500 in the bank
Mrs spends money like a fruit machine

Debt would scare the s**t out of me. I’m more inclined to buy something outright, if I can’t afford it I can’t have it (mortgages aside). I think it’s mad the choices people make. Small example, a couple I knew rented and had debts but one was saving for a tattoo and they wanted to get a dog....

I see it a lot,a good chunk of my work is on new build devlopments. I have plans on my desk from developers that are getting sites out of the ground next year on big projects i.e. 2 year plus. Developers are not silly if they anticipated a storm on the horizon they wouldn't be forward developing they'd land bank it instead.
Can't fully agree with that owls, developers never seen 2008 recession coming which was caused by banks and when it hits sites will seize up like last time. Recessions are cyclical as history tells us and one will come again. All the ingredients are there, too much debt etc,,, new builds are shifting but older property's are not shifting quickly here we're I live.

At the end of the day, people are always going to need plasterers and there will NEVER be a shirtage of work, wether that's on domestics or on site
I wish. There was a recession not long ago. There was no site work and domestics were very scarce and they wanted it done for peanuts.Thats the reality of it.

I no mate I feel the exact same not going to lie moneys really good at the minute I seem to be getting really good customers too which helps.
When I was in London I was speaking to a tiler who said he earns 120 a day lives in a flat I was thinking how is he even affording to live up here on that wage and that's not even minimum must be really hard for a lot of families and things out there.

I've taken out three mortgages on rental properties and they've been a great investment.
I borrowed big to buy my current home whilst still keeping my previous home and extending it before selling it on. People said that I was crazy to buy my current home for £292'000, eighteen months later the bank valued it at £412'000, that was fourteen years ago, I'm looking forward to getting it valued once all the work is finished.
Borrowing can be a great way to make money if you're sensible.

I've a mortgage on a buy to let, and a mortgage on my unit for work, they've both nearly doubled in value since I bought them but I'm taking a long term view as there for my pension. Equally I borrowed a lot on my current house, there going up 20 grand a year on my street, but it's only paper money until you sell up.
