Busier than before the financial crash???

Prices seem to be coming down in Kent too, also seeing houses to be done up for sale now, never used to see that a year ago landlords and so called developers used to get them seems the buy to let scene is slowing down a bit now

don't blame me vinecy I hate the shite never did much of it
I’m not complaining at all , tbh it’s one of my favourite jobs
Funny thing is around here people still ask for it too sometimes I can do most but not the fan pattern I’ll admit

House prices will drop . Interest rates will go up . All them who bought a new build in last few years will end up with huge mortgages . On them houses government helped em bhmmmmm.
On another note . Who the f**k buys all theses house . There building entire villages round here . Just makes me wonder where all buyers are

Everyone living longer, booming population, not enough houses being built to meet demand, house prices going up( certainly still in my part of the world) interest rates at a low level.... take your pick on why houses are being built and selling.

I'm on a new build site at the moment in harrogate, north Yorkshire and they've sold 90% In 3 weeks of coming on the market and the start price for the cheaper ones is 540 grand.
The price of land has never been higher.

I see it a lot,a good chunk of my work is on new build devlopments. I have plans on my desk from developers that are getting sites out of the ground next year on big projects i.e. 2 year plus. Developers are not silly if they anticipated a storm on the horizon they wouldn't be forward developing they'd land bank it instead.

Mates just moved on one of these goverment schemes sold a lovely terrace. Right next to fields to get a new build with garden big enough for a table. And 400 extra on mortgage

Yep,
Persimmon have 2 sites on the go in harrogate there selling like hot cakes they've sat on one of the sites for 5 years.
They are building a small town in fulford, york and its 800 plus houses, I look at the render for them on it, 60 off them had rendered gables but I didn't have time to do them and there 40 days payment from invoice, no thanks.

But we’re being told the population is dwindling and that’s why we need to import thousands of immigrants reliant on benefits. They’re certainly not buying houses.

i have recently got myself on the peripheral of a hedge fund. the fund purchases complete blocks of flats and businesses that run at a profit . its concept is very clever. anywhere in uk. the rewards are called a drink, a drink is often more then a years turn over for a plasterer. there is still a lot of money up for investment in uk.

I've had this conversation with my grandad whose in his late 80's now, he paid £1340 for his first house, the same houses on that road now sell for over a million.

We bought this 8 years ago . If we stick a double extension on and wrap a single round back it be huge but we wouldnt get cash back on it to be fair. My crazy dream is there old council houses .....with lots of land . Council kicks everyone out to build 5 houses on each plot and gives me stupid money or builds me a big detached lol. Were allowed to dream

Ha he doesn't live there now, he bought it when he came back from the war, and got a regular job and met my nan, life was simpler then, 90 in a few weeks and he hasn't got a pot to piss in, just loads of good stories.

the basics, the hedge fund puts up the finance, they receive the deeds as security, they are paid a share of the profits of the deals. people with business experience run the business. others keep their eyes open and receive a reward for their information.
