The clue is in ....'Old Timber'...................When timber has dried and acclimatized you are ok...............Straight out the builders yard with thick Mick throwing a hammer at it.............You get problems.iF you know what your doing your work won’t crack. Got an old timber house threw up in 70’s with popcorn ceilings, screw the boards back in as they were tacked. Re scrim joists. Skim. Not rocket science

Well it had been assembled about 2 years before I decided to alter and adapt it to present building.Of course. But you let it climatise first, right? Of course you did.
Yeah scrim joists and everything is all gravy your too clever for this trade I think u should try another career like bin man or somethingiF you know what your doing your work won’t crack. If the timber moves for the many reasons Lurpy it will at least crack your board joints no mater what tape you use.Yeah scrim joints and stop 1 coating and your work will stop cracking you f**k**g board donkey

It's a studio. Recording studio...................and storage.
You buy the cork and I'll bang it up. Until then I will make my own RW3 acoustic panels.the 2 recording studios that we have worked on had all the walls and ceilings covered in slabs of cork. with huge rounded internal angles and ceiling lines so that a note could not be caught in a corner apparently.
