House been rendered in Weber - advice wanted

Members online

I work for an architect firm who also deal with him a lot so I will see/speak to him regularly also. I feel absolutely gutted. I can’t even look at the house.
Would taking it off cause any damage to the house?

you do need to talk to your contractor. i would guess that he is just a middleman you got someone who can talk a good job to carry out the work on the cheap.
he needs to know he has left your home in such a mess and present it for payment. a coat of paint is not the answer. if an architect saw that render it would be condemned.

i would not remove the mono but lay a thin coat system over it and finish with acrylic.

The whole situation is awkward. Easier said than done.

The works not been done on the cheap it’s f**k**g barely a 100 metres for 8,1/2 g’s that’s crazy money

you have miss read my post. the middleman got someone without experience on the cheap.
supply and fit with a scaffold we charge £80 per metre.
How hard can it be to get render fookin flat. Still yet to meet a decent renderer
a lot harder then u think especially when your going over shoddy new block work which is 70% of the time round my way,I’ve said many times rendering is a art to get bang on and takes years of lots of hard graft to get to that standard,I’ll always take pics of my render with the sun shining down the side of it don’t see the point taking one in the dark/shadow

I’d buy a brick house all day long but for some reason most houses are rendered round my way

I know it’s hard that’s why so many houses look shite, can’t fault yours there looks top

I need variety in my life, get bored doing the same thing over and over. Good to mix it up abit. Weather fucks me off, can’t plan nowt.
Absolutely! Can’t do internal all the time it drives me potty.
In the middle of a big detached at the moment and rain has f**k*d me over big time. Can’t beat external when the weather is right.

That’s where the diesel comes in with a few more men. I do a lot of kitchens, like doing them. Stuff with a bit of brainwork required.

For those that said the lighting doesn’t help. These are taken with just the security lights on which point away from the house.

I was considering just living with it but I really don’t think I can.

You can't live with that. If you'd paid a few grand we'd all call you a mug and say you cheaped out and what do you expect but you've paid top money for a monstrosity of a job. Call them back and say you want it done spot on and you'll pay them the remaining 3k. If they're a decent size company like they sound I'm sure they will, and send someone round who's actually used the material before and with a trowel not a spoon. If not take them to court for your money back

Nice kitchen.
Seriously you know it ain't great so it's up to you what the next step is .
1 small claims
2 get some one of here who people vouch for to put it right and loose 5 and half grand
3 live with it . Which you already said you cant

No excuses with that, it’s all bead to bead. If you’ve half a brain you can work out how to tie all the beads together to give you a flat wall as a whole, even if the block work is out. When I first seen it I thought it was a hack off and re render, not fresh block. For 8.5k it’s outrageous that standard. Feel for you.
