Before clemo comments I have to say....you really can be a tosser booby. It produces a better finish with a lot less effort. Is that so hard to understand??!!

It think it's one of those products that needs to be seen done before judgement tbh
I like the finish that skim leaves if done right
I don't believe it's leaves a better finish than a decent spread
There a guy down my way that does it.he charges more than I charge for skimming
Its a high end posh version now and always will be..im interested in doing it but it wil always be ur high end market Job will never take over multi

My skimming is a 100% on till a light is shining down it. With the airless it still looks class when the light is on it.

You do well then if I had to get other spread in to help (other than my cousin and old boss ) they would take the piss on how much they do,skank off and leave me in the s**t if a better paid job came along and give customers there number to try nick work off me if I wasn't there..
Don't know how you manage it.

Day 1 prep coat
Day 2 first coat
Day 3 second cost
Day 4 sand down
Looks a lot more effort to me mind
Day 1 with skimming and the jobs finished
That's y its high end market tho bobby..people who have top dollar and don't mind paying it wud go with airless If there knew the options..
Dsnt matter If lads do f**k all plasterman as its all price work we subby out..the trying to nick contacts Is a big no no tho..dont you want to expand abit plasterman? Do u turn work down because 2 busy?

The only time I ever worked for someone else and stopped for a paid lunch hour.
I accidentally fell asleep in the garden just after lunch, after drinking 4 pints of kronenburg by mistake, while waiting to get a trowel over a biggish lounge ceiling.
Woke about 4pm with a slight headache.
Cant me and flynny be the main event instead? Plasterman can be my corner man

Then you say airless is a better finish then skim
My skimming is flawless so why change the system?

The point being missed here is that you don't need to be a plasterer the use this airless plaster.
This system is standard all over Europe and carried out by painters and it will still be here long after we've all hung our trowels up.
The fact it can be sanded means that any poor or defective work can simply be repaired and sanded until its perfect
The only reason its so expensive is because plasterers are doing it over here and anyone who is prepared to invest in new machinery and be pioneers is going to charge as much as he can.
Once it takes off the prices will drop
In comparison is a 3 bed house 500 mts takes 2 plasterers 5 days they will be wanting 2 tradesmen x 5 days pay. The materials being about 3_400 quid. and you would get some waste
If you trained up some tidy labourers to do this job even if they took same time you wouldn't give them a plasterers rate,
There be less waste materials would be doubled but overall you would still make a good profit
Yes some plasterers will do it quicker but only to make more money and the same can be said for the airless sprayers.
You always here about shortage of tradesmen and these are the solutions. Plasterers have the attitude that they will decide whats best for the customer and clients but really all thats needed is a flat wall thats painted and fit for purpose. Nobody else cares how it created

Okay yes,didn't mean it in a funny way just never found asking others to help on jobs of benefit ..think most of the trades would skank a job off someone if they not got there own work,if bobby does then he does well to make it work.
Spraying of plaster I would love it to work but as most know I ain't got a machine yet or had any experience with but looks good to me if people can make it work with a cool team.
Its not the lazy ones who take the airless on,it will be the ambitious ones

An ambitious painter and decorator lol..makes me laugh how people think this will take over multi
I don't highly rate multi but its the best of a bad bunch..1 day multi mite be taken over by another product but I dnt think this will be it

I don't know. But I know they have a airless finish plaster that you can put on with a paint roller coming out soon. How long would it take anyone to pick up how to do that. Probably 2to 3 weeks.

Skimming is the easy end of the plastering world.
I have a 2 gangs that do all my skimming which free's me up to do all the rendering
I rarely sub that out as I can keep up with my machines.
