:endesacuerdo:
Charming I must say , not only has he just insulted my skimmer skills now he’s trying to make out you are Scottie 10 bags or something when we all know 10 bags would last you 2 weeks

Maybe you will end up going selco after all

Lmao. 2 months you mean!

I wouldn’t buy a pallet of pure finish on the strength of Petes reviews, would grab a few bags if someone stocked it near me but they don’t.
I bought a pallet of uni as there was only 28 bags and ended up using over 300 with one fail.

As I've said before; I have never doubted that Pure Finish is as good as you say it is.

Right, and update on Board Finish.

Brilliant. Gave it a proper test, skimming a grotty artex ceiling. Over-skim walls. Skim over a fully bonded out wall etc. Just feels exactly how the multi used to be, not dragging or leaving lines or needing loads of water. It's actually scary how s**t the multis got and I'd gotten used to just dealing with it.

Thanks @Olican I'll be sticking with board now. Noticed it said it's fine for over-skim on bag, did the old bags say that?

@BritishGypsum you're going to save a few quid by not coming out to meet me so do me one favour and explain the difference between multi and board, if it's too scientific then just keep it basic.. as the difference in the way it behaves is night and day.

Friday... 08:23... and I'm looking at @lurpak 's plastering porn... ffs I need to get out more... What you guys have said about multi is exactly what I've been experiencing, the stuff I was taught with was lovely, but the stuff at home I've had nothing but issues with.

Gonna try the board finish over my artex on the stairwell

Lol prepping a job now then off to other one so will get pics x

On the Artex ceiling you did....did you have to bond out the whole ceiling before putting on 2 coats of board finish or was the board thick enough to cover artex

Which one mate. Do a few a week. All depends on the texture. Some are so shallow 2 x skim does it.

Others 1 coat bond skim mix + 1 coat skim

Others bonding coat + 2 x skim

Just cleaning my screen getting ready

Nowt exciting mate but today consisted of preparing a job for Monday which is sheet up, put some board in ceiling pva it etc. So that’s ready to go Monday morning.

Then off to this job. This is a shop refurb. Upstairs first then the shop front. Owner took tiles off and had some chases done.

So fill thick bits first chases etc and uneven areas of walls. Let that go in bit. Bonding 60.

New mix bonding 60 tight coat over tiles adhesive. Walls all level n flat noe

Gone for munch while that sets then pop back skim it. Home for 1.

Fresh at 2 hours mate most I’ve ever had is 2.20 and I put that down to room atmosphere, sometimes I lay in with same gear and got between 1hour 15minutes and 1hour 30minutes depends if I dropped a tad of water in to loosen up tbh on those two time difference

Boards reskim anything you’d normally skim over mate the only thing I would say is it constantly pulls in there’s no sitting in there waiting so especially on reskim prep well out of the 20/30 odd plasterers I’ve seen using it only two said it pulled in to fast for them, I personally put that down to them being so use to waiting for multi hanging around or standing there Stare ing at it
2 tight coats mate?
