£4.99 25 METRE ROLL.
Enough to do about 25 average window reveals.
about 20p per window.

Hows that going to work? It won’t stick to a crumbly wall just like scrim tape won’t.

He said it will work better if the crumbly wall is pva’d. Well that won’t work either because cellotape won’t re-emulsify the pva. So the tape will be clinging to a thin coat of pva. Thus when the bead goes on it will just fall off, taking the pva with it. Even if it stayed up with gravity on its side, it won’t be bonded enough to skim. First trowel will pull it off.

i have now found a product called adhesive tape primer which can be used on conditions you describe as well as damp surfaces
