Just for clarity that's actualy 1 coating as all material from same mix.

Proper 2 coat skimming is determind by top coat being from a separate mix.

The only exception is over high suction backgrounds such as sand & cement as then it is in effect applying a wet material over a pulled in base coat.

Always makes me laugh this people preaching about 2 coating when they are actualy 1 coating them selves!

I can count on one hand the amount of blokes who can do massive gauges like algae. Yes they are animals but its fuked them up in later life. Bloke I used to work with 60 year old fuked with 2 knee replacements through hammer through plots all his days

I'm on about one coat doing all . Trying to fill beads and scrim . Not filling g them out first now that's different. If I had my way I'd still have a spot board and a young kid throwing a fresh bag on it everytime and washing out after each mix the way I was brought up and shown

All the big bins and mixing and washing out o your own is b*ll***s. But I e had to move with the times a6methods or earn shite money

I've been looking at spreads 1 coating g boards for years it looks a total disgrace. Scrim showing beads dished ect ect . Maybe theres a rare few who can pull it off but I ain't met one in my 30year stint
they are not tradesmen their only aim in life is to make money but some other poor sod has to live with it when they buy house /but the house builders are at fault cutting prices all the time for profit sadly its a sign of the times
