Unifinsh on sand/cement

I think b&q will stop stocking it soon, they used to stock dri coat and one coat(25kg) but not any more. I like to use unifinish but only as danny has said on the odd ceiling or wall but i cant pick it up locally and would have to buy a pallet which im not going to at the price its at now.
Vince your a good member on here and talk about all sorts, we all want to get away from here every now and again.

I can't say why only they can..fair enough points there only one I say is not, is in real world I am touching 1500 bags used now and the time saved on the right job is the main advantage for me .
In the house, gear on , no messing, they are real life jobs I talk about and have shown.
So going off the price in B and Q, if I would of used 1500 bags it would be an extra £9000 I would of spent, fick that I could of bought two machines :)

Has a place where? The only place it fits is in the DIY market coz they are the only people buying it in my opinion. I've seen people stood looking at it who I can tell are not plasterers and if the bag says no pva required they think it's even easier. BG don't really give a f**k as long as someone is buying it, if you go in any B and Q there is a chart above the plaster which gives you different types and there coverage and they are all completely wrong and in my opinion there to fool the public. All their finishes cover less than three metres and the same for a tub of pre-grit so reading that your buying two or three times what you need on skimming and forget buying pregrit at £60 a tub for three metres. I've pointed this out on a few occasions and even emailed them but they don't give a f**k why would they? @BritishGypsum

@Danny why will s&c suck in??
If you have waterproofer in it and it's well mixed and plasticity it skims fine. Been skimming it for 30 yrs and never pva'd it

Areas behind left on radiators, hard to reach areas where u r not 100% certain pva has reached. U know what I mean.

If you can't get it with multie then you won't get it with uni
Use some flynny, then if u don't like then slate it.I have and don't like it but I am willing to do it,then make up my own mind.being doing this like u for over 30 years so I'm no greenhorn. I think it does have a place, plasterman says it's been a great success for him.so it works then for some.using it now to finish bag.:hola:

f**k me I don't want to use it and I've not slated it I just don't see the point, plaster man would say it's great he's all over the posters and leaflets. I've even been offered for someone to teach me lol it's skimming, I can get a perfect finish with multie why would I change? Why would I buy a plaster that is twice the price and like you said you been doing it 30 years and won't be using it again so why shouldn't I take your advise?

It was a friendly offer i thought you would of been up for it.
The posters and leaflet's have nothing to do with me using it and liking it.

Others do see the point on the work they do flynny.
Or just keep multi posting threads until nobody can be arsed answering you, so then at least you can be safe in the knowledge you are 100% correct. Again.

Thats my advice on uni.
But if you used it then yours might be different from mine.its like trowels, you can't really have an opinion on a product until you try it first hand.

Funny you should say that coz the last five threads you and I have been involved in you f**k*d off with your tail between your legs making yourself look a c**t without and answer.

Your right I repeating myself and I'm bored of it myself lol some people don't listen xx

Fair point but it's skim it's nothing new, the end game is the same and as far as trowels go I wouldn't believe half the s**t I read from people who have only just picked up a trowel then ask basic questions, then return complaining the trowel is the problem. Plastering has been around a lot longer than this place and Facebook and if you were honest you would agree the plasterers from 30 years ago would wipe the floor with the plasterers of today on all disciplines and without a van full of s**t trowels.

Are you f**k**g serious? What is it you think you could actually teach me? Maybe I should teach you how to use a trowel and get an even finish and save yourself money?
Didn't mean it like that , just meant skim a room together and show you how I deal with the different suctions and why Speedskim is imo better to use with unifinish and multi.

Maybe,,but the engine inside would struggle to keep up with a 25 year old.:sorprendido3:

If you read my previous post that is exactly why.
You may think the tail was between my legs, but you just think whatever makes you happy.
Then again I don't really think anything would make you happy, maybe you should jerk off more.

Yes with unifinish and Speedskim
f**k me, I tell you what, why you have not been f**k*d off this site for your constant advertising of these two products is beyond me your lucky they are sponsors and don't say you don't push the speedskim.

between this place and the gypsum museum I don't have much time xx

Believe me using the gear would never be a problem and the speedskim would not make any odds? Unless it makes the plaster set quicker I don't need to use it. I could show you how to rough on without the need for a speed skim.

I guarantee it wouldn't from filling the buckets to opening the bags I would already have a head start lol never mind fixing my beads right, taping up right and roughing on neat I wouldn't break a sweat. Plastering is all down to technique and having the experience and right technique being younger and fitter won't give you any advantage if your all over the place wasting time.

I have been on a job the last couple of weeks with another plasterer and his lab who has been at it ten years and it is so embarrassing watching him, his finish is shocking I honestly don't know how he makes a living but he does. In all my years I have only come across a handful of plasterers and that is hand on heart the trade is f**k*d. I am turning work away every day sometimes two jobs because I can not get another plasterer who can do the basics. The colleges are churning out s**t just to tick the quotas, the lads that are on it know 10% of the trade and think they can dab their way out of anything. I have been walking round this job for the last couple of weeks singing "it will never dry, it will never dry". Cold spots all over the place, stains coming through every where and the heaters have been on 24/7 for a month lol. The trade is f**k*d I tell you but if you are keen and get with someone who knows their s**t, stick it out for five more years and I guarantee you will clean up coz the shortage is gonna be bad.

Possibly, I am the same, work myself, knocking back work on a daily basis.
My problem is I am too cheap,I found that out 2 weeks ago on a refurb I done.the main contractor on job who I know well, pissed himself laughing when I told him what I was charging the client.prices are up and change my attitude. If the work is good they will pay.

The last five calls I have had I have turned away and each one has said they can't get anyone. The last few jobs I have priced I added an extra couple hundred quid on top for a laugh and I'm in a position I don't need it but got them. I have never gave it away the jobs to hard and I tell every customer you pay once and that's it which usually gets me the job. I know I'm one of the dearest plasterers in my area and I like it like that because now I'm getting the customers who are prepared to pay for a good job. I can't be arsed with the fight to the bottom I can't possible compete with dickheads on FB who think they can plaster coz they own a trowel. There are less and less plasterers and more and more houses being built so common sense says double your prices :)

I admit I lost the plot the other night with that wannabe Sarah Beanie woman but saying that you must be living on planet flipping Zog

For the unifinish I have even posted my frigging receipts online on this forum too, so people can get the price down , with the company I get it from on and the flipping date of purchase on.
Bg paid me absolute peanuts for what I did on the shoot day and that's all I ever got.
The rest of my comments on here about it have come completely from my love of what I do.
And the speedskim is the same I'll dig out my flipping receipt of purchase for that too
Oh sorry I did get a bloody free beanie frigging hat and a tshirt that is the wrong size.
