Unifinsh on sand/cement

Unifinsh on sand/cement

@Danny why will s&c suck in??
If you have waterproofer in it and it's well mixed and plasticity it skims fine. Been skimming it for 30 yrs and never pva'd it

If the sand and cement is fresh then fair enough but if it's been up a while... ie the skim has blown off then that's what I was getting at :-)

Now I saw someone mentioned d&d and cold spots..... :). Flynny, how did they go around the problem on that job? And what do you think is the best way to d&d on bare concrete wall/column? Ta
They haven't got around the problem they do what a lot of builders do and a few on here they just wish it away lol you can't dab onto cold walls it will always show through and this job they have used the boards with the polystyrene on the back and it's still showing through.

As I said all valid points... would be a very place if we all agreed...

I also think uni has its place.... don't think it can ever replace multi but I don't think that is the plan

So it's a no no then, no matter what you do?

Let's say you have to stick boards, because there is not enough space for metal, in my case , on site. How would you do it?

I will narrow the options for you;). Let's say you have to compromise and chose the less evil way to stick that board

Explain about cold spots and make them aware then do what they want :)
Ok here is the funny think:D
We started a new job last week and I have addressed the problem and in my head was this thread uni--plasterman-flynnyman - dot and dab-etc. He said what do you recon and I suggested we use uni for dot and dab. What's uni? Universal product for plastering and dot and dab. Ok, check downstairs I think we have some. No we don't I already did. Ok , remind me later to order some:risas:.

Really? You recommended dabbing the wall with unifinish? Don't ask @theplasterman he will just say yes all day long as long as your using it lol

I was laughing all day , and to avoid dealing with a whole palet I told him you can't order few bags it's palet of 100 only. I will do it somehow don't worry.

Unifinsh on sand/cement
Probably better than drywall adhesive :)

Way,way better and has proved for a year now. The first time I met the strength of that s**t was when had to move a shaft wall with fecking 12mm, drawing changed, and couldn't separate the board from the metal-it came into pieces and where we had to stick board over board - impossible ! The s**t turns into stone! On internal walls I have no problem to do the dot and dab. Honestly had no problems and spots, maybe because the internal temperature or just lucky !
Here is one of the columns, I have to take pictures for proof, you know how is it.
I don't use that much stuff for the board , but here we had to make sure is extremely strong.Hope that helps someone if he needs to go around a problem like this.
