Wood Worm in Wickes Firedoors

We have Oak/veneer fire doors purchased from Wickes but they are travis Perkins doors and one of them has woodworm!!!

We have been battling with wickes over this and they claim that it is out of warranty so not their problem!!!

Any ideas on what treatment I can use?

I can't talk though thought I'd fixed a leak in my shower after putting off repairing it and patching up the ceiling for a year , only to find out it's still leaking, I give up :llorando:

Is there any damp specialists on here ?

hahaha its not bad at all to be honest :D Leaky window is pretty much fixed now :D To be fair it is like a show home (for now)
 
I wouldn't mind sticking my worm inside the lass who works at wickes in Chorley she got a good rack big arse and wears too much makeup no hang on that's me? Anyhoo she would defo get it. Bent over a pallet of board finish !!!

My bathroom is tiny ground floor '70s extension and the roof was bit shitty on it when we bought the place. Started leaking so raised the valley bit as it was flat as pancake and someone had nailed the lead. Still no joy so stripped the whole thing and started again. Was fine for ages and then recently in heavy rain it badly leaking again :muyenojado: The whole roof is new lath, felt, tiles, lead everything! And I did it with grown up supervision from uncle Bri (builder I work with).

So then I was thinking its the pipes running through the ceiling because the boilers stupid but.. it's only doing it when it rains so... It's damaging my mental health!!!!! :mad::mad:

It'll most likely be where the roof meets the building. I reckon 90% of the leaking flat roofs I've looked at have been that. The others tend to be where a pipe or vent go through.

Post a photo (easy @Marshy I mean of the roof!).

Yes imago!!! Grant me the wisdom to fix my roof!!

It's pitched. The pitch is shallow but we adjusted the overhang of the tiles. Stand by for pics I have only just joined the world of modern phones...

Yeah I took ones of the outside but not great in dark (thought flash would be ok) and then was interested as to how you post a pic so went ahead anyway if i'm honest!

If it's a 'firedoor' with woodworm - wouldn't that compromise the fire rated time on burn through? Woodworm is holes after all.
 
If the architrave @stuart23 is oak....the trouble might be a tiny little oak weevil prevalent in European oak. With all timber eating bugs the secret to get rid is to have dry stable timber / atmosphere. They cannot survive in or digest dry timber. Our homes are full of bugs and spores but they need the absolute best condition to thrive. E.g. Dry rot need moist / damp conditions to work, but spores are in the atmosphere all around us.
Any chemical treatment placed upon the timber surface only work when the bug, that can live up to 5 years inside the timber, emerges as an adult. It ingests the chemical and dies thus breaking the cycle of life. As the bug reaches adult it needs to get out of the timber it's in, and find some more, we use that need to kill it, but, you might still see holes appearing as the bugs mature.
 
i was always told that the holes in timber are the bugs leaving the timber not bugs entering the timber.
