Don't think people grasp the regional part here. I could go down London and earn alot more but i.m happy doing and getting what i want locally. Turn up with trowel crack on f**k off. Though if I price a job up for my sen i have noticed theres a bit more to have lately .
But look at it like this few years back and I know it's gone up now bit in village i could go out with wife for Sunday at session have 5 pints each and a bag of pork scratching and I only ever took 20 pound note out

This is a prime example of why prices aren't spoken about on here historically.
People need to grasp that the same job isn't worth the same money countrywide.
While @lurpak is earning his 70k+ per year other spreads will think that they're doing very nicely on 25k+.
Neither are necessarily wrong.
And @JessThePlasterer you are IMO correct, it is rude to ask how much other people earn.

The point that @lurpack doesnt realise and what i find insulted by is that i also price at a level where i push the price to the point of tipping point at loosing work for being to expensive for my area.
It just so happens that our region is historicaly low wages in addition to historicaly having also alot of plasterers as there is some big dry lining outfits in the area.
All of this affects the price even sparkys and plumbers, joiners etc could only dream of those rates up here.
Hes calling me out, yet if you could clear 400 labour on that same job up here you would be classed as expensive, as for 650 you simply could never ever hit that price point.

650 was an example. If wasn’t artex simple glue and skim it’s even better 500 and do it in a day.
There isn’t set prices in set areas on domestic work. Obviously you can’t get London prices in Doncaster, I’m not disputing that but what I am disputing is £300 to skim a full living room with artex ceiling is too cheap even for donny.
From what you’ve said zombie.. working 7 days a week some weeks.. 30 grand a month running through your business.. now sounds like a good time to change accordingly.

Isn’t rocket science mate if you have a decent reputation just put a nice price in and you’ll get it
If you’re new to game or rough then you’ll have to be cheap
Once again you just dont get it. And as it happens we rarley work on small jobs like that for exact reasons discussed.
We can and do make much more money by doing other aspects of the trade as skimming alone has always been a saturated market up here.

Just want to chip in.. I'm West Sussex (Gatwick) and would be around £500 for decent living room, two days work. Definitely wouldn't get £700+ unless it was awqward with 3m ceilings, 10 windows, arches etc/ but standard 4x4 living room around £450-500 and I'm not cheap either.

We have all said we would do well to achieve 400 labour with many around here knocking it out at 300 labour scaringly there would be some even less make of that what you will.
