    Pp or fibre glass fibres

    the plaster wont soak into fibreglass strands, so technically no where near as strong as you could pull the fibres out, where as hessian scrim absorbs the plaster. Fibreglass works, but its a nightmare to handle and hessian is far more tried and tested.

    Made this last night....

    Mist the mould with a solution of water and washing up liquid (mixed in a plant mister) then using a brush brush a thin layer of the mix into the mould first, give it a tap. then cast the rest tapping it as you go, Will remove any air bubbles 12 hours to take out he mould though! jesus id be...

    2.4m scaff board!!!

    Said it before say it again MINIMAX scaffold 2 sections to carry, the board and the frame, Folds down really manageable in size to carry and store. option to add extra sections to increase height. on wheels so ca just wheel about the job with ease.

    Anyone's kids into plastering?

    Was told growing up that I would never get into this trade...turned 17 and was hauled off to the workshop to start haha. I have a good life. My dad does Grandad does And great grandad did. Plastering trade has served us all very well and tbh couldn't imagine myself doing anything else.

    Wax and buff several times. The more you do the better the mould will come out and easier.

    Practice on something smaller before attempting a full mould. Run a model. Shellac and wax it.several times. Paint on a layer of gel coat. Leave to set then layer it up with matt and resign.

    700 is a huge amount. Its for the cat walk apparently. Last year they had miniature wedgewood tea sets made. Now this year they want small corbels.

    Well here's a good place to start. Stick a post up listing your location. Do you drive? Own tools? Experience? Why you want to do it? Etcetc. You never know.

    You won't be able to scribe it. 45 it or as close to the angle as possible. Fit up. Then fill the gaps with casting and carve as it sets. I did a post on fitting cornice a while back. Will dig it out.

    Its a good price if you can do it in that time. They had to pay 4 days labour. And don't forget tax. And all other business running costs.

    Wezly my bad but that's based on my montly fuel cost split between 5 working days a week. Regardless its cheap price. Cheap work.

    Insurance is around 140 and I'm doing £120 a week in petrol. So 620 Divide that by 20 working days. £31

    Firerated means it takes longer before it will burn. It doesn't say fireproof!
